The New Anathema

This is about the new Anathema, as quite obviously them being made of Dark Matter is pretty annoying, seeing how we know hardly anything about it.

The new Anathema are planned to be nano-bots with the purpose of preventing the heat death of the universe. To stop the heat death of the universe they would have to clump together all of the matter and energy they can find, as to make sure it is not equally distributed. To get this matter they would go through anything they can find, dirt, water, planets, stars and even galaxies.

The death of Minos-Vaskus was the end of one of the major black holes, and when the black holes go away is when the heat death begins to occur. So when Minos-Vaskus is destroyed as one of the last major black holes, the Anathema are set off because they think that the last black holes being destroyed is a natural thing.

Sunt (or Anathema Prime) controls these little nano-bots, directing them and organising them. When he is destroyed another takes it's place. However  if the signal is cut-off (as in they get no more commands) they will not make another one, but instead continue commands until finished. Therefore, as an end to Phase 3, Sunt will be hacked, then lose connection by travelling to Brunikor.

The Anathema themselves will be miniscule self-replicating robots who store energy. They will use wormhole transportation and cloaking devices on every level to stay out of anyone's visibility as much as they can. They will also be able to work on little energy, as that is meant to be their work environment.

The Anathema were designed by the Pantheon, specifically Sarak, in case they were needed to stop the heat death of the universe.

So, what are everyone's questions and thoughts on the new Anathema?

We decided to remove the tech cap by establishing some events hundreds of years after Chaos Crisis, where the supposed maximum level of technology would have been achieved. Part of the reason was upcoming real world technology that we did not think about when first creating our empires. Basically, what we could have over the course of the next century would be far more advanced than any civilization on GC had before the change.

As for the Harbingers themselves, they were changed to be pleasure seekers. Rather than maintaining dominance over everyone, they instead do whatever they think is most entertaining. Ultimately, this proves to be a major plot point later on when the Harbingers begin to disagree with one another over the outcome of the Anathema invasion.

Sorry, but I don't really understand the entire first paragraph. So, why is the idea of Moroitos out again?

And also, wouldn't it be a threat to the Harbinger's fun if their toys began becoming as powerful as them?

The Moroitos have been redesigned and the Harbingers have a back-up in case of that scenario.

Just to clarify what I said, some of things that we can expect to be invented in the next century are brain uploads to androids, photorealistic simulations and using one's mind to control objects. These are things that would make our society radically different from anything we imagined before, and we changed the tech cap of GC to allow for this possibility.

You changed the tech cap!? Yay! I'm not breaking the rules anymore!

Obviously I need to design another illegally overdeveloped civilization.

Basically, the only rule now about the tech cap is that it needs to have had a realistic development cycle that would not infringe on willing suspension of disbelief.

Phew.

@Psy: So what exactly is this "back-up"? Also, why was the idea of the Moroitos redesigned?

The Harbingers find it easiest to cause internal instability by inspiring an individual Moroitos to lead a revolution that would topple their government - destroying them on the inside effectively. It doesn't really involve the destruction of the universe, although it's still a possibility that the Anathema have attacked areas beyond the Local Group in the past.

They also have the Qianae, entities that can influence the outcome of events and, if necessary, alter history.
