Roleplaying Scenario 4: The Infinity Key

Long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, a Harbinger forged a mighty device, one capable of creating a stable wormhole to another dimension large enough to send a relatively large starship through. But when people started fighting over it, he sealed the device with the Infinity Key and flung the key across the universe to parts unknown.

Now, an ancient, mysterious and incomplete map has been unearthed pointing the way to the Key. Trouble is, the map is lost too - the archaeologists transporting it and their starship disappeared somewhere.

To find the Key, first you must find the map. To find the map, find the starship, the Supernova. The one who succeeds in finding both the Key and the Device, which has also been lost for millennia, will be able to traverse time, space and dimensions. Those who lose will most certainly die a most horrible death.

Any volunteers? I'll give you a hint - the Supernova is in the Local Group. Helpful, isn't it? I'll give you another hint, I promise.

To enter just add the following;

Character: [Name]

Species: [Whichever species your character is]

Equipment: [You can have four pieces of equipment, and try not to be too outlandish]

(optional) Backstory: [Max. three sentences on your character, how he came to be involved and why he wants the Key]

Location: [where the heck are you?]

Action: [what's the first thing you decide to do?]

Guess I'll go to the Nearest building.

"Perhaps I can help. I have taken intensive educational courses with House Budenvi. Structural dammage is part of the curriculum, and I may be able to detect any weak spots and micro-fractures in such a place. And yes, I am done now." I have basically just wiped the Karnabot's file history, so that nothing connects it to the Halfling.

Maj: You head towards the nearest building. It appears to be a sort of mall, full of stores containing exotic goods from across the galaxy.

Pim: "I suppose if you can provide proper security credentials, we could - Hey, wait a minute. Where did you get this android?"

"Hmmm, how do you mean? From whom, or what planet?"

"Whoever gave it to you swindled you - the memory bank is completely empty! Every bit of programming has been wiped, aside from basic motor functions."

Yeah, apparently you accidentally activated a booby trap that wipes the androids memory completely. It's gonna take a while to get it operational again.

"What! That illogical, useless piece of industrial sludge. No wonder he warned me not to scan it until later. It was just some eteno merchant, selling second-hand defence gear.

"Well, I know who I will be sending a robo-plague after, next time I have access to a RpMD. Let me see, credentials. Would this work?"

I hand the guard a House Foblon identification card, which, aside from the obvious, has my diploma from House Budenvi. Yes, they do give cross-house education.

Lackng other options, I'll look around.

Pim: "Good enough," says the guard, "you'll be wanted under the royal palace. Please don't cause trouble."

Maj: There are several shops where you might find useful supplies, among them a hardware store, a weaponry store, a grocery store, gift shop, tourist info booth and pet shop.

"Very well. I assume it is the largest building in the city?"

"Yeah, sharp eyes. It's the big one which looks like an inverted pyramid, with a giant flashing neon sign that says 'New Karalian Imperial Palace.'"
