Rank Structure[]

Promotion System[]

To avoid issues associated with a standardized, bureaucratic promotion system, the Eteno Imperial Armed Forces assign responsibility for processing and issuing promotions on immediate superiors, then low-level officers in the case of enlisted, or other superior officers in the case of officers. Immediate superiors are tasked with identifying subordinates that they find suitable for promotion amongst their own unit, such as a sergeant suggesting a member of his squad, a lieutenant suggesting a member of his platoon, or a captain suggesting one of his platoon officers. These leaders then convene and offer thoughts on each others' choices. This takes place usually once every year, or for units who go through abnormally large numbers of personnel, once every six months.

After final selections are made, suggestions for promotions are given to the immediate superior officer, who makes the final decisions regarding approval or refusal of promotions. An officer's refusal of a promotion can only be overruled by a universal consensus of his subordinates.

In the case of generals and admirals, immediate superiors make their suggestions, which are decided upon by a group of fifteen randomly-selected officers of superior, equal, and subordinate rank who review the service records of the officer in question. They then vote on whether to approve or deny the promotion request. At least eleven officers must vote to approve for the promotion to go through.

Special ranks or positions with no equal or superior are voted on by the Council of Generals and the Council of Admirals.

Chain of Command[]

Main article: Eteno Imperial Armed Forces chain of command

The Eteno Imperial Armed Forces form a well-oiled and rigidly-organized machine. To maintain its effectiveness, there is a strict and clearly-defined chain of command leading from the highest echelons of the government to the individual cadet. At the top of the military heirarchy are the Supreme Commander and the Imperial Military Councils.

Vehicles/Ships/Field Guns in Service[]

Naval Vessels/Aircraft/Small Spacecraft[]

Imperial Navy Vessel Information[]

The Eteno Imperial Navy operates close to 28,091,926,000 vessels, not including auxiliary ships such as oilers, transports, supply ships, sloops, and repair ships. Numbers are only approximations subject to regular change. Below is a breakdown for each set of classes:

  • Rams / Minesweepers / Minelayers / Bombardment vessels / Other misc. combat vessels - 1,404,596,000
  • Corvettes - 5,396,546,000
  • Gunboats - 6,180,223,000
  • Frigates - 5,557,466,000
  • Destroyers - 5,076,546,000
  • Cruisers - 4,494,708,000
  • Battleships - 1,053,677,000
  • Carriers - 251,838,000

The Imperial Naval Registry tracks all mentioned ships, and regularly stocks valid, unused ship names.

Imperial Navy vessels are powered by modern fusion reactors, supplemented by hydrogen fuel cells and industrial batteries. Strike craft are powered by batteries or hydrogen fuel cells only.

Bombers[]

Kula Mk. 14 – One of few Eteno strike craft with a straight wing design, it carries multiple small torpedo/rocket launchers under its wings and one automatic laser turret in the tail to fend off enemy fighters. It has one pilot, and stretches 15 meters long.

Ferda Mk. 3 – The Ferda is a lighter combat bomber, with four rapid-fire lasers mounted around the cockpit. This strafing/dogfighting capacity paired with the devastating missiles that are this bomber's trademark makes for a deadly machine rightfully feared by the Eteno's enemies. It has one pilot, and stretches 17.5 meters long.

HDB-4 Mateja - The whine of the Mateja's dive sirens alone is enough to send the most organised military unit scattering for cover. Mounted under the Mateja's delta wings are ten high-explosive 600lb bombs. Matejas normally strike in large formations made up of five or six twenty-one craft vee formations. One after the other, the vees dive at a near-ninety degree angle, drop their bombs, and pull away immediately, after which the formation breaks and the bombers rush back to their base. As they are not built with the capacity to mount other armament, these dive bomber formations require many escort fighters and are helpless when alone. It has one pilot, and stretches 12 meters long.

RNSLB-3 - The RNSLB is the Imperial Armed Forces' main level bomber for long campaigns or large battles. This clumsy and well-armored aircraft carries almost three hundred high explosive bombs, enough to level a small town. It has two pilots and three supporting crew, and stretches 54 meters long.

  • MAaR RNSLB - These few thousand models were constructed to locate and attack surface maritime units without the need for additional support. Instead of carrying hundreds of heavy bombs, high-explosive torpedoes are stocked in modified bomb racks, capable of being armed and placed in firing position in under ten seconds. Additional sensor suites are also present on these models, allowing it to perform as an effective scout as well. It has one pilot and two supporting crew.
  • FSA RNSLB - Firefighting variant. Bomb bay is replaced with multiple high-capacity flame-suppression foam tanks. A single tank can release its contents, then rotate out of its position to make room for another tank. This makes it easy for the FSA RNSLB to quench multiple fires in one flight. It has two pilots and one supporting crewmember.

Hansche B-202 - One knows to run for cover when formations of B-202's stretching several miles across appear on the horizon, surrounded by fighters. This aircraft has the capacity to drop nearly thirty high-explosive bombs or a hundred parafrag bombs accurately and quickly, before coming around for another run. Once the bomb bay is empty, the B-202 is maneuverable enough to strafe enemy positions with cannons mounted under the wings and cockpit, and rocket pods adjacent to the jet engine on each rear-swept wing. Automatic dorsal and ventral beam cannons can lash out at pursuing aircraft or light ground targets. It has two pilots and stretches 19 meters long.

Hansche B-211 Express - Dedicated light support bomber. Up to 5,000 lbs of ordnance can be stuffed into the tight bomb bay of the B-211, to be dropped at low level onto hostile forces dangerously close to Eteno troops. This ordnance can range from parafrag to incendiary, or high-explosive to bunker-busting. After making its bombing run, the B-211 can come around for another run, ripping targets to shreds with four 6.2-forga machine guns (two on either side of the cockpit, one under each wing). It has two pilots and stretches 23 meters long.

Constellation Mk. II Naval Patrol Bomber - Sturdy aircraft capable of operating from regular airfields or mounting pontoons and operating from a coastal area. A frontal cockpit section houses a pilot and co-pilot, as well as a sensor operator. His or her sensors can detect a vessel dozens of miles underwater or hundreds of miles away on the surface. From the large cargo bay covering much of the rear fuselage, the Constellation can drop torpedoes or depth charges. On surface attack missions, Constellations are also equipped with four heavy missiles under both wings or eight rocket pods under each wing. Instead of using jet engines like almost all contemporary bomber aircraft, the Constellation is powered by four propeller engines. While the design decision may seem confusing, it allows for the aircraft to engage surface targets at much lower speeds, an invaluable attribute when striking snail-paced battleships, or dropping precision ordnance on shore facilities. It has three pilots and stretches 29 meters long.

  • Constellation Mk. III - Modified out of the naval patrol role, the Constellation Mk. III is a guided missile aircraft which forgoes all of its predecessor's specialty equipment, replacing it with missile guidance and tracking systems and three missile pylons under each wing. The Mk. III's standard payload is four downsized Imperial Navy ship-to-ship missiles modified for anti-ground use, and two anti-air missiles with EMP warheads.

Fighters[]

Defender Mk. 17 – A very effective fighter with an angled-down forward-swept wing design. It can carry up to eight small forward facing guns on its wing mounts. Under the fuselage, the fighter can also mount up to ten light missiles, most effective against other fighters. The Defender's folding wings and limited VTOL capacity make it easy to store or launch quickly and efficiently. It has a single pilot and stretches 18 meters long.

Valkyrie Mk. 2 – Boasting the same design of the Defender, the Valkyrie sheds six of its eight gun mounts for torpedo launchers, and its ten light missiles for twenty anti-ship missiles. For the allowance of extra ammunition storage space for these new weapons, the Valkyrie's wings and hull are both wider and longer. Fully loaded, a single Valkyrie bomber can deliver twenty anti-ship missiles, and twelve torpedoes. Ship captains that mistake waves of attacking Valkyries for mere Defender fighters are treated to a painful surprise from the great destructive capacity of this bomber. It has a single pilot and stretches 18 meters long.

Vida Mk. 4 Luca - While it is unknown where exactly the formally adopted nickname Luca came from, it is known that it was given out of respect. Unlike most other craft in service with modern galactic militaries, it is incapable of hovering or vertical takeoff, and thus requires an airfield or catapult to get airborne. With the lack of rotating engine mounts that are installed for hovering and de-accelerating, the Luca must use two rotating rockets on both sides of the cockpit to slow down in combat, and be recovered by starships, where the Luca slows down to the point where it can be caught by an arrestor apparatus in a hangar. This fighter makes up for these weaknesses with a high weight limit, and can carry up to thirty anti-air and/or anti-ground missiles under its two forward-swept wings and fuselage. In addition, the Luca can shred to pieces any target it chooses with four rapid-fire lasers embedded in the nose, just in front of the cockpit. It has a single pilot and stretches 16.5 meters long.

Vida Mk. 6 V/STOL Laku - Younger cousin of the well-received Luca, the Laku was designed as a V/STOL strike craft for the Imperial Marine Corps, it has since found popularity and widespread use in the Imperial Air Force. It is built off of the Mk. 4 Luca's design, but with a thinner cockpit section, thicker armor, no brake rockets, and low aspect-ratio wings compared to its cousin. The Luca's original engines are replaced with larger, stronger, rotating engines, granting the Laku the ability to take off and land vertically. Under the two short wings are sixteen anti-air/ground missile pylons and two rocket pods. Under the fuselage is a bomblet dispenser, ten anti-ground rockets, and six anti-air missile pylons. It has a single pilot and stretches 17 meters long.

Gunships[]

LAG-3 Decabel - The Decabel is a compact and maneuverable gunship hoverjet. It has a pilot and a gunner, and space for up to eight men in a small cargo bay behind the cockpit. Decabel gunships have eighteen weapons pylons on either of the aircraft's two stub-wings, capable of mounting missiles, rocket pods, cannon pods, or beam weapons. A rapid-fire anti-infantry beam weapon is mounted under the cockpit, allowing for the Decabel to take on all types of ground targets with ease. It has a single pilot and stretches 15 meters long.

  • LAG-4 Heavy Decabel - Similar to the original model barring a number of minor targeting system improvements armor additions, and the addition of two 120mm guns under the cockpit.

EII-37 Eagle - Designed with transport and combat purpose in mind, the Eagle jet is a trasport gunship with a cavernous cargo hold and an impressive array of armament. It utilizes a rear-swept wing design with four jet engines mounted underneath, providing for exceptional top speed. Between these engines are mounted twelve anti-ground missiles, four anti-ground lasers, and four anti-air missiles. Up to two vehicles and an infantry platoon can be carried in its hold, and airdropped if the situation requires. It has a single pilot and stretches 22 meters long.

HV-17 - Affectionately referred to as the 'unwashed working class' of Imperial Armed Forces aviation, the HV-17 is a rugged transport hoverjet synonymous with the Eteno military. Its chassis is little more than a large cargo bay with two wings attached, and each wing with a tilting engine nacelle, allowing for flight like a fixed-wing aircraft or like a hoverjet. Its cargo bay is large enough to fit two vehicles, a platoon of soldiers, or a squad of soldiers and a light vehicle. It has two pilots and stretches 19 meters long.

  • HV-17R - Filled with radar and radio equipment to effectively coordinate battle strategies and gain strategic information. It has a single pilot and five supporting crew.
  • HV-17C - Cargo variant. Lacks any seats or facilities. Carries only supplies, no infantry or vehicles. It has two pilots.
  • HV-17SS - Sea attack variant. In place of a cargo bay, a quad torpedo launcher is mounted, with a depth charge dropper under the cockpit. Six anti-ship missiles are mounted under both wings. It has two pilots and a weapons technician.
  • HV-17A - Attack variant. Armed with two sets of rapid fire laser cannons under the cockpit, a missile launcher on each wing, and bomblet dispensers replacing the cargo hold. It has a single pilot and a weapons technician.
  • HV-17MC - Vehicle-carrying variant capable of holding up to three vehicles in three magnetic clamps that replace the standard variant's cargo bay. It has a single pilot and a loading assistant crewman.
  • HV-17FSA - Fire suppression variant. Instead of a cargo bay, there is a magnetic clamp for a foam tank. It has a single pilot.

Transports[]

M3102 Maget - When quick boarding operations must be conducted under heavy fire, Marines and naval infantry are ferried from ship to ship by the M3102. On account for the need for a sleek hull design, the cargo bay is relatively small. It can carry a limited amount of supplies and around twenty men. Four missile launchers are mounted under a set of stubby delta wings, with a large breaching drill under the cockpit for non-hangar entry. Boarding teams with space suits can deploy into the hull breaches created by the drill. The Maget is quickly becoming the boarding craft of choice for the Imperial Navy and Imperial Marines. It has a single pilot and stretches 24 meters long.

Other[]

AAT-M-16 - The Atmospheric Assault Transport Model 16 is an intermediary staging point for troops in orbit around a planet and troops already planetside. It serves as a giant flying staging area with efficient cargo onload-offload facilities and numerous landing pads for transport aircraft. It has two large extendable landing pads/cargo bays, from which troops and aircraft can deploy. The AAT-M-16 has the capacity to hold a thousand men and eighty vehicles, though not for an extended period of time. With the capacity to go from planet to planet under its own steam, the AAT-M-16 is a versatile and useful asset to the Imperial Armed Forces. 23 crew man the vessel, which stretches 120 meters long.

Dagrad C-77 Fox - The Imperial Armed Forces are built for second and third generation warfare, and perform admirably in both. However, with fourth generation warfare becoming more and more common in the modern galaxy, new elements must be integrated into the EIT's military to deal with insurgent and rebel threats. One of these elements is the Dagrad C-77 Fox, a COIN aircraft. This aircraft does one job, and does it effectively. With a basic tube of a fuselage attached to a high-power propeller engine, the Fox is both light and quick. Under its long, wide wings are dual rocket pods capable of firing smoke flares, or incendiary and armour-piercing rockets, dual 22mm cannons, four pellet bomb dispensers, light beam cannons, and flare launchers. Even with all of this armament, the Fox is next to worthless when matched against anything other than ground targets. With light armour and sub-par turning ability, it is basically a sitting, explosive duck in a dogfight. When deployed effectively, the Fox is more than a match for any light-to-medium fortified ground targets. The sight of this aircraft normally elicits a sigh of relief from exhausted ground troops hunting local guerillas. It has a single pilot and stretches 15 meters long.

Overwatcher-9 Tactical Command Plane - The Overwatcher-9 is the latest model of command plane used by the Eteno Imperial Armed Forces. It contains radio and radar banks similar to the HV-17R, but with more function. An Oberwatcher can connect hundreds of thousands of disorganized troops and re-organize them in a very short time, thanks to a support AI that can give individual orders to almost ten thousand soldiers in a milisecond. This plane is not purely for organizing and strategizing, it can also contribute to an offensive by jamming or intercepting enemy communication with an enormous area of effect. It has two pilots and 30 supporting crew and stretches 52 meters long.

Light Corvettes (LC)[]

Elda-class light corvette – A small, cylindrical vessel designed to slip between hostile formations and destroy strike craft before they can get to Eteno capital ships. A reduced armament is balanced by beefed up shields and armour plating, to allow greater survivability when snaking between enemy vessels. 70 crew man the ship, which stretches 100 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Gallagher

Stari-class light command corvette – Serving as a sort of miniature comand vessel, Stari-class corvettes are deployed alongside other light vessels to deal with interior conflicts in which deployment of a large fleet would be overkill. Token armament of a handful of defense guns and two torpedo launchers shield the ship from minor attack. 90 crew man the ship, which stretches 120 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production

Leading Ship - ENS Bradkulen

Vincenc-class light missile corvette - Little more than a rugged cone-shaped ship with a hull brimming with rocket and torpedo launchers, the Vincenc-class missile corvette is designed specifically for hit-and-run attacks. Forty rocket launchers and ten torpedo launchers are fired upon hostile ships, shortly before the corvette flees at full speed. Vincenc corvettes are used exclusively in convoy raiding and surprise attack roles. 80 crew man the ship, which stretches 110 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Vincenc

Heavy Corvettes (HC)[]

Wisthedden-class heavy point-defense corvette – Serving as a support screen for larger frigates and destroyers, Wisthedden-class corvettes are fitted with anti-missile laser batteries, deployable repair drone pods, and three small hangars for the quick repairing and rearmament of strike craft. 110 crew man the ship, which stretches 100 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Kaloyanchev

Slalluda-class heavy support corvette - Armed exclusively with EMP missile launchers, these corvettes cripple any hostile ships that attempt to approach whatever larger capital ship they are escorting. In large battles, it is generally only battleships and carriers that receive coverage from these corvettes. 90 crew man the ship, which stretches 120 metres from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Nedelchov

Krystiana-class heavy corvette - Designed to counter the battle-proven KMF Orbital Deployment Legions. Fitted exclusively with state of the art quick-tracking beam weaponry, this class of vessel would be an important part of any future EIT/KMF space battle. In addition, this class is well suited to fighter screening, a role it takes up frequently. 120 crew man the ship, which stretches 130 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Krystiana

Light Gunboats (LG)[]

Kaliga-class light gunboat – A frontline combat ship, the Kaliga-class serves as a picket vessel for cruisers and battleships, laying down constant fire with two forward-facing batteries of heavy proton guns. In addition, the gunboat can carry up to ten bombers. 280 crew man the ship, which stretches 220 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Malisk

Neist-class light jamming gunboat – A sort of sister ship to the Kaliga, the Neist-class exchanges many of the former's light defense guns for advanced jamming equipment. The hangar is also downsized, capable of hosting only eight fighters as opposed to the original ten bombers. 260 crew man the ship, which stretches 250 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS George Washington

Heavy Gunboats (HG)[]

Battle-class heavy line gunboat – A significantly upsized version of the Kaliga class, Battle-class gunboats field almost twice the amount of light guns as their predecessors. The size of the hangar is doubled, and the power of the dual main guns is nearly doubled. Among these offensive upgrades, the shield generators and armour plating are significantly improved. The Battle-class is by far one of the most common minor Imperial Navy combat vessels. 320 crew man the ship, which stretches 260 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Zdravko

Hons-class heavy support gunboat – Carrying little armament aside from defense guns, the Hons-class' true power lies in its set of three fusion reactors powering an advanced shield array. This class of ship closes in on allied vessels that have taken significant damage, and transfers much of its shield strength to the ailing combatant. 330 crew man the ship, which stretches 280 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Ionescu

Fetmir-class heavy carrier gunboat - Small gunboat carrier for use in both invasions and occupations that tends to hang in the lower atmosphere of planets. It allows for greater mobility of forces, as well as greater protection against sabotuers or attackers. Its hangars can house up to a hundred aircraft, and their crews. 310 crew man the ship, which stretches 300 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production

Leading Ship - ENS Dusan

Light Frigates (LF)[]

Nebb-class light command frigate – Designed to lead groups of gunboats and corvettes, the Nebb-class supports senior fleet officers in charge of small fleet elements. The hull is a traingular pyramid, housings most of its two dozen anti-ship railguns and dozens of defense guns at the tip of the ship. This allows for a powerful forward-facing barrage of fire, but a weaker broadside. 420 crew man the ship, which stretches 340 metres from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Klemens

Jan-class light frigate – Designed at the outbreak of the Kklxin War to fill the need of a simple combat vessel that could be produced quickly and in great number to free up more powerful ships. Jan-class frigates are tube shaped, with most of the crew and command facilities closer to the engines, and most of the guns towards the front. These frigates lack relatively large guns, instead boasting a large quantity of medium and light guns. This class of vessel's only frontal weaponry is a pair of light beam cannons, used mostly for driving away strike craft. 440 crew man the ship, which stretches 350 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Loki

Heavy Frigates (HF)[]

Kliloppen-class heavy frigate – Boasting the silhouette of a much lighter vessel, the Kliloppen-class is meant to be underestimated. Small and agile, this class can effortlessly weave into enemy formations, draw ships in with the promise of an easy kill, and then lay down a punishing barrage with its sizable port and starboard railgun batteries. 460 crew man the ship, which stretches 330 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Kliloppen

Bastion-class heavy support frigate – Serving as the vital link between superlight support vessels and heavier support cruisers, Bastion-class support frigates perform the vital role of combat repair. At the tip of the spear with the fleet's main combat ships, this vessel can execute standard hull repairs on friendly vessels while under sustained fire, thanks to improved armour and shield systems. Unfortunately, this benefit comes with the price of reduced firepower. If not properly covered by friendly guns, the Bastion-class can make for an easy target. 440 crew man the ship, which stretches 350 metres from bow to stern. This class iscurrently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Hans Birgement

Light Destroyers (LD)[]

Fastha-class light destroyer – Built to lead frigate squadrons, the Fastha-class contains the command facilities to lead and the heavy guns to protect its combat groups. In concert with these capacities, the Fastha-class' hull is similarly shaped to a large bird, guarding its flock. Along the reinforced wing fixtures are arrayed heavy batteries of mixed EMP, railgun, and beam weapons. Moderate port and starboard armament of eight dual proton guns each supplements several batteries of point-defense anti-fighter weapons to form the rest of the ship's armament. 630 crew man the ship, which stretches 440 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Makemilun

Lish-class light hunter-destroyer – Fitted exclusively with large arrays of medium proton guns and missile tubes, in addition to a limited amount of anti-fighter guns, this class of destroyer is deployed in combat to seek out and destroy light enemy combat vessels. 600 crew man the ship, which stretches 460 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Lish

Vierd-class light point-defense destroyer – Ill-equipped to take on combat vessels of similar size, the Vierd-class packs only minimal anti-ship armament, consisting of two minor bow and stern railgun batteries. Corvettes and strike craft are most at threat from this class of destroyer, as it is armed with extensive batteries of anti-fighter guns, fast-tracking beam weapons, and light missile launchers. 650 crew man the ship, which stretches 420 metres from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Fustheige

Heavy Destroyers (DD)[]

Slavko-class heavy raider destroyer – If one was to observe a group of Slavko-class destroyers in action, they would see a spiritual successor to the Kriegsmarine U-boat wolfpacks of ancient human history. Rarely seen as components of regular combat fleets, this class of destroyer is deployed in groups of four or five to raid hostile shipping. Artificial spatial mass projectors housed deep within these destroyers are capable of pulling ships out of warp, to be destroyed by gunfire from the Slavko-class' extensive broadsides of medium guns. 780 crew man the ship, which stretches 550 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Keplat

Delci-class heavy destroyer carrier – Built as a light combat fleet carrier, this ship blends the speed, agility, and firepower of a heavy destroyer with the some of the strike craft carrying capacity of a lighter carrier. Six primary batteries of eight dual railguns, four dual proton guns, and six torpedo launchers form the majority of the ship's armament, aside from its standard complement of anti-fighter weapons. Carries up to seventy strike craft. 790 crew man the ship, which stretches 560 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Siegfried

Guidance-class heavy destroyer – Sometimes referred to as a destroyer built around a large gun, the Guidance-class destroyer is deployed exclusively against other large combat vessels. Between three forks sticking out of the ship's bow is nestled a powerful energy weapon unique to this class of destroyer, packing enough punch to take down a heavy cruiser in only a few shots. A short recharge time coupled with the raw destructive power of the weapon makes it the single main armament of the destroyer. Small railgun and point-defense batteries are scattered across the hull to protect against attackers. 700 crew man the ship, which stretches 550 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Wyrzyk

Nashville-class heavy response destroyer - One of the most recent ship designs put in service by the Imperial Navy, the Nashville-class destroyer is built to fill the role of a general patrol and combat ship. A Nashville-class can operate at ranges much greater than many other Navy ships, and take out any targets it encounters with railguns, beam weapons, missiles, torpedoes, eighty strike craft, and laser cannons. This class of ship is used primarily for exploration, system patrol, rapid response, and convoy escort. 740 crew man the ship, which stretches 530 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Tennessee

Light Cruisers (CL)[]

Guardian-class light missile cruiser – Regularly positioned behind the fleet's heavy guns, these vessels are armed with dozens of large missile launchers in addition to token point-defense weaponry. In addition to advanced and devastating hull-buster missiles, the Guardian-class is armed with state of the art shield sapping ordnance. While this class is incapable of withstanding barrages that many ships of similar size would be able to shrug off, it can deal immense punishment at even the longest ranges. 800 crew man the ship, which stretches 640 metres from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading Ship - ENS John F. Kennedy

Bures-class light carrier cruiser – Only able to come out on top in a gun duel with destroyer-sized vessels or lighter, the Bures-class lacks the raw firepower expected of an Eteno ship. Instead of getting into gun duels, this ship deploys multiple squadrons of strike craft. Whether deployed as close support carriers in a large battle, or capital ships in a smaller engagement, the Bures-class is a valuable intermediary support asset. 830 crew man the ship, which stretches 630 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Miloslaw Agrod

Hostor-class light cruiser – The Hostor-class serves to be the odd light cruiser out in the Imperial Navy. Not providing any remarkable support asset, this class instead packs significant firepower and thick armour plating and shielding in the unassuming hull of a light cruiser. Between generous batteries of guns, beams, and lasers, and port and starboard mounted missile and torpedo launchers, the Hostor-class is more than capable of bringing down larger vessels unassisted. 800 crew man the ship, which stretches 580 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Dagfinn

Heavy Cruisers (CC)[]

Zivkovic-class heavy cruiser – The oldest class in service with the Imperial Navy with over 800 years of service in the fleet since its leading ship was laid down, Zivkovic-class ships combine old-fashioned aesthetics with modern weapons and equipment. While initially designed as a support cruiser, necessity at the time of its creation forced the Imperial Navy to require additional weapons. This modified class soon became the centerpiece of the early Imperial Navy, and since then, better weapons and support modules have been added. This class can go toe-to-toe with multiple vessels of similar size, and bring its crew home safe, as well as dispense vital repair aid to nearby picket ships. 900 crew man the ship, which stretches 730 metres from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Zivkovic

Omaca-class heavy torpedo cruiser – Intended for battering hostile ships at range with rows upon rows of batteries of dozens of torpedo launchers each mounted in the port and starboard sides, as well as the bow, the Omaca-class can deal pain at a distance, but can only weakly defend itself against an attacker of similar size. 1,300 crew man the ship, which stretches 800 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Mitica

Kovac-class heavy support cruiser – The Kovac-class was built to provide the fleet with the many types of support that smaller ships simply could not provide. It can lay and disarm mines, remotely disable ship computers, restock armaments of larger ships, and construct small orbital structures to help secure an area. A moderately sized array of defense guns serves only to ward off ships as large as light cruisers. 1,200 crew man the ship, which stretches 860 metres from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Bjorn Schussler

Democracy-class heavy cruiser – By far the most effective front line combat vessel in the Imperial Navy smaller than a battleship, capable of bringing to bear dozens railgun batteries and turret-mounted ship-slicing beam weapons. Democracy-class cruisers have the armament to take on almost anything smaller than a battleship, and the armor to survive the kind of punishment it can deal. 1,500 crew man the ship, which stretches 940 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Boesch

Monore-class heavy missile cruiser - Monore-class missile cruisers are powerful combat support elements, hanging to the rear of the front line, bombarding enemy ships with fusillades of missiles. Sixteen large missile banks attached to the sides of the rectangular hull each fire dozens of missiles at once, and these banks can rotate ninety degrees vertically. An additional forty smaller missile tubes are present at the aft and bow. Several dozen defense guns protect the ship from strike craft who manage to evade the devastating weapons of the rest of the fleet. 1,000 crew man the ship, which stretches 850 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Ivanov Monore

Light Battleships (BBL)[]

Hecklaungen-class light fast battleship – Only slightly larger than a heavy cruiser, the Hecklaungen-class boasts thick armor and shielding, vast batteries of heavy guns, and powerful engines as its main tools for destruction. Supported by smaller screening cruisers, this class of battleship speeds into enemy formations to wreak havoc. 2,600 crew man the ship, which stretches 1.1km from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Valeri Geisler

Freedom-class light battleship – Slower and heavier than its sister class Hecklaungen, the Freedom-class leads groups of cruisers in small combat sections of a large battle. Enemy battleships are held at bay by the Freedom-class, and oftentimes destroyed. This class of ship possesses just enough firepower to take down another light battleship, and generally relies on the ships it leads to bring down large hostile vessels. 1,900 crew man the ship, which stretches 780 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Emperor Ch'szazs

Heavy Battleships (BBH)[]

Wotan-class heavy line battleship - The Wotan-class is a modern line battleship built to replace the Praetorian-class battleships of the Imperial Navy. It boasts state-of-the-art missile systems and missile countermeasures, as well as multiple torpedo launcher banks on the dorsal and ventral surfaces. Main gun batteries cover all of the ship's surfaces, with a standard battery consisting of eight heavy laser guns, four beam projectors, and a pair of large railguns. Numerous point-defense batteries are located between main gun batteries. The Wotan-class can do substantial damage to any target in a 360 degree range, due in part to the large quantity of standardized batteries as well as the downsized and decentralized bridge and engines. Advancements in automation mean that despite the Wotan-class being larger than the class it is replacing, it has some 500 fewer crewmembers. 7,800 crew man the ship, which stretches 1.85km from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading ship - ENS Wotan

Zugla-class heavy stealth battleship – A recent design built around state-of-the-art cloaking technology, the Zugla-class is one of the largest ships in the Milky Way with practical stealth capacity. This class is armed with generous batteries of point-defense weapons, greater amounts than those on most other similar sized vessels, and enough laser and beam weaponry to annihilate most everything that dares to engage. As it uses massive amounts of power for cloaking and laser weaponry, the Zugla-class runs off of an abnormally large complement of fusion reactors. 7,200 crew man the ship, which stretches 1.6km from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading ship - ENS Zugla

Praetorian-class heavy line battleship – The Praetorian-class battleship is immediately recognizable as the Imperial Navy's foremost symbol of power. Extremely weak bow and stern armament is offset by rows of heavy laser and railguns forming a massive broadside, and a pair of missile banks that make up nearly a quarter of the total size of the ship. These missile banks are located on either side of the hull, close to the engines. Their sizable payloads of anti-ship missiles can take down scores of small vessels, and numerous larger ones quickly and efficiently. A complement of eighty strike craft is also carried, and stored in two port and starboard hangar bays. 8,300 crew man the ship, which stretches 1.8km from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

  • Honder-sub-class heavy line battleship - All Praetorian-class battleships constructed after 2130 AD were built with altered internal design and new features such as enhanced sensors, new stern missile launchers, dorsal missile countermeasures, and a new reactor design. After thirty years of service, these new reactors encountered reliability issues expensive and time-consuming to fix. This issue combined with the elevated cost of the Honder-sub-class mean that it is generally considered a failed attempt at increasing the lifespan of the original design. This class is no longer in production.

Leading ship - ENS Protector

Kingdom-class heavy battleship – Built primarily as an escort, this class of vessel boasts superior shields and power generators, as well as the capacity to engulf a large nearby vessel or a close group of small vessels in its shields. In terms of armament, the Kingdom-class is gifted with numerous torpedo banks in addition to large quantities of point-defense weapons and railguns. 7,800 crew man the ship, which stretches 1.6km from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading ship - ENS Admiral Gervas

Super Battleships (SBB)[]

Rhodus-class superbattleship – Designed as a sort of combat carrier, the Rhodus-class brings substantial firepower to battle in addition to a complement of 200 strike craft, mainly fighters. Somewhat below average armor and shielding means this class rarely leads in battle, instead taking a place within the main battle line, strengthening the formation. 13,500 crew man the ship, which stretches 2.5km from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Stanislaw

Bosko-class superbattleship – While certainly punching below the weight of a superbattleship, the Bosko-class more than makes up for its lesser firepower with unusually thick armor and scores of redundant shield generators. This class is capable of enduring damage that would knock similarly sized vessels out of action, and is commonly utilized as a defensive asset. 13,100 crew man the ship, which stretches 2.4km from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Bosko

Teclavic-class superbattleship – Slow and devastating, the Teclavic-class merges firepower and hull and shield strength to form what has been commonly mistaken as a combat station. Missile, torpedo, railgun, and beam weapon batteries adorn the entirety of the hull, protected from even the most intense punishment by thick layered shielding and armor. Atrocious subspace speeds are the ship's main weakness, leaving few other weak areas. 13,800 crew man the ship, which stretches 2.7km from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Freiner van Malisk

Light Carriers (CVE)[]

Delmenhorst-class light carrier – Despite being neither a standard ship class nor an original military design, the Delmenhorst-class is a welcome addition to the Imperial Navy. At the outbreak of the Kklxin War, the need for more ships outweighed the need for standardization, and thus Imperial Navy engineers converted many civilian cargo vessels into combat-capable strike craft carriers. These converted ships are all part of the Delmenhorst-class, with the only common factors being moderate armor, rugged structure, and cavernous holds for strike craft. These carriers can hold anywhere from 300 to 500 strike craft. 6,200 to 6,500 crew man this general class, which averages in size from 2.1km to 2.3km from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Delmenhorst

Ebeleben-class light carrier – Agile, fast, and lightly armored, the Ebeleben-class carrier rarely does more than circle around a battle. This class can effectively deploy fighters and bombers where they are needed in short time, and maneuver around the battlespace to provide repair and rearming to strike craft all over the area. Ebeleben-class carriers can house up to 400 strike craft. 6,300 crew man the ship, which stretches 2.4km from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Ebeleben

Heavy Carriers (CV)[]

Malkov-class heavy carrier – Heavily armed and armored, the Malkov-class heavy carrier could be mistaken for a cruiser if not for its great size. Multiple missile batteries stretch across the hull, capable of providing both long and short range offensive capacity. Generous complements of dual-purpose anti-fighter and anti-missile point-defense weapons create a powerful close-range screen against small threats, and allows this class of carrier to protect whatever of its 600 strike craft are closeby. 8,200 crew man the ship, which stretches 2.7km from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Ortwin

Schmer-class heavy carrier – Unarmed, lightly armored, and rarely deployed outside of a large combat fleet, the Schmer-class exchanges durability and combat capacity for strike craft space and advanced repair modules normally found on dedicated repair ships. A complement of 780 strike craft makes this class as dangerous as any armed carrier. 7,900 crew man the ship, which stretches 2.8km from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Viacha

Super Carriers (CVS)[]

Bismarck-class supercarrier – Dwarfing most ships smaller than a heavy battleship, the Bismarck-class has the armor and weaponry of a heavy cruiser or light battleship. While restricted to drastically lower speeds than most other carriers in service with modern navies, this class more than makes up for it with its superior combat capability and cavernous hangar space capable of hosting 1,200 strike craft. 14,700 crew man the ship, which stretches 3.3km from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Winogrodzki

Miroslav-class supercarrier – As rare as it is powerful, the Miroslav-class is almost always spotted at the heart of only the largest Imperial Navy battlegroups. Railguns, beam weapons, and point-defense weaponry adorn the entirety of the hull in such a density to deter all but the most powerful and specialized ships from attack. The Miroslav-class can stand up to punishment that would knock heavy battleships out of action, and counter in kind with either its regular weapons or its complement of 2,000 strike craft. 17,000 crew man the ship, which stretches 3.7km from bow to stern. This class iscurrently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Thorbjorn

Battlecruisers (LDBB)[]

Zaklina-class command battlecruiser - Fitted with the proper facilities and technology for long-term deployment as a command vessel, the Zaklina-class blends the raw power of a dreadnought with the relative flexibility of a battleship. Admirals or groups of admirals commanding only the largest individual fleets or fleet groups are put aboard these vessels. A Zaklina-class vessel's captain is its admiral - or most senior admiral when multiple are aboard - and this admiral has at their command seemingly endless batteries of weapons, over 1,200 strike craft, and a specially-trained team of officers ready to make the dissemination of orders from the flagship quick and efficient. 29,500 crew man the ship, which stretches 21km from bow to stern. This class iscurrently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Natalka

Empire-class battlecruiser - Built as a more cost-effective method of naval projection and ship-killing than a full dreadnought, this class of battlecruiser carries a complement of 1,600 strike craft and is equipped with eighty docks for ships ranging in size from corvettes to heavy cruisers to repair, refuel, and transfer cargo and crew at. These facilities do not make up the only capacity of the Empire-class, however. This class of battlecruiser has an even greater array of weaponry than the Zaklina-class, and is more than capable of handling itself alone in enemy territory with its innumerable beam weapons, lasers, point-defense armaments, torpedoes, missiles, railguns, and proton guns. Considered one of the most important projection tools in the Imperial Navy arsenal besides full dreadnoughts, the Empire-class finds constant use in the conflict-filled Milky Way. 36,300 crew man the ship, which stretches 25km from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Anika

Ragna-class command battlecruiser - Since 700 ATGW, the Imperial Police Force has operated specialized command vessels to direct operations in dangerous or untamed frontiers, but improvements in long-range communication, and a sharp increase of pirate strength drove the IPF to replace its relatively weak command vessels with twelve custom Zaklina-class battlecruisers in 2027 ATGW. However, the sheer number of changes forced the contracted shipyards to create an entirely new class of battlecruiser for the IPF. Thus, the Ragna-class was designed, and twelve were constructed by 2080 ATGW. The Ragna-class possesses hangars for 3,700 IPF patrol fighters, 630 torpedo bombers, and partially-enclosed docking space for eighty gunboats and twenty destroyers. Its gun batteries pack impressive power, but are less numerous than on the original Zaklina-class modification plan. Facilities for the comfortable transport of 25,000 police officers and their vehicles allow this class to ferry large amounts of police assets to where they are most needed, and prison cells for up to 7,500 criminals or suspects give it greater prisoner capacity than many planetary or orbital detention facilities. A Ragna-class battlecruiser's mere presence in a star system or cluster can curb crime, and it is able to direct entire sector commands. In 2090 ATGW, the Imperial Navy had eight Ragna-class battlecruisers constructed to operate under Imperial Military Police control. Its only real weakness is its relatively light armament in comparison to other classes of battlecruiser, but this is not an issue, as it is not deployed to fight large naval units of other nations, and very few pirate organizations possess any vessels strong enough for battlecruiser classification. 31,200 crew man the ship, which stretches 23km from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading ship - EIPS Ragna

Dreadnoughts (DBB)[]

Glory-class dreadnought – The Glory-class is both terrifying and majestic, in equal amounts. Only five are known to be in existence, with two or more currently planned or under construction. With no strict design, Glory-class ships can vary wildly in armament, crew, strike craft capacity, and to an extent, shape. It is set in stone, however, that Glory-class ships carry at least 11,000 strike craft and 600,000 sailors. Crews of or beyond this size man ships that range from 280 to almost 300 kilometres in length from bow to stern. Even if the deployment of a Glory-class is an act of supreme desperation, one can be sure that the tide will turn in the blink of an eye when one enters the field. This class is currently in production.

Leading ship - ENS Glory

Indestructible-class dreadnought - Sometimes classified as a defensive dreadnought, the Indestructible-class of four ships is designed with exceptional shield and armor systems, surpassing even the Luitgard in terms of protection. Tens of thousands of small and medium guns, long-range anti-fighter lasers, and railguns are installed in fortified batteries, supplementing a primary armament of missile and torpedo batteries located on four wing-like features pointing 45 degrees below the vessel. An Indestructible-class derives its combat effectiveness from its ability to last in battle longer than any other vessel, regardless of the firepower levied against it. With proper support, it can whittle down even the largest and most powerful attacking battlefleets to nothing without taking debilitating damage. Indestructible-class dreadnoughts carry no strike craft. 450,000 crew man the ship, which stretches 250 kilometers in length.

Leading ship - ENS Indestructible

Luitgard-class dreadnought - Designed with leading the entire Imperial Navy clear in mind, the Luitgard is a one-of-a-kind ship, stretching nearly twenty five miles across. Fitted with dozens of layers of some of the most advanced shielding money can and can't buy over ultrathick layered alloy armour, the Luitgard can withstand the greatest of pummelings. In retaliation, the Luitgard-class can utilize its near-million small guns, thousands of railguns, missile launchers, torpedo launchers, beam weapons, and over 25,000 strike craft. While not tasked with transporting or supplying large armies, the Luitgard nontheless is home to over 100,000 elite naval infantry. Like all Glory-class vessels, the Luitgard never retreated from nor lost a battle. 1.2 million crew man the ship, which stretches 380 kilometres from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading ship - ENS Luitgard

Other[]

Hepheastus-class naval ram (HNR) - Fitted with ultra-thick armor, powerful engines, and few guns, the Hepheastus-class is designed to ram into hostile vessels, break them apart, and continue to do so until the battle is over. In terms of firepower, all this class has is several batteries of anti-fighter guns. 206 crew man the ship, which stretches 720 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Athena

Rayko-2-class fleet oiler (FO) - Regardless of the fact that traditional fleet oiling is long gone, the Rayko-2-class retains the title. The Rayko-2 is made up of a bridge and crew quarters at the front of a single large battery or fuel cell. Oilers meet up with fleets on long deployments to recharge the batteries and fuel cells of all ships, even those with reactors capable of producing a net income amount of power. 37 crew man the ship, which stretches 460 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Winfried

Sergej-class supply vessel (SS) - Without the Sergej-class, fleets and armies would be unable to deploy for long periods of time. These supply ships transport the goods that fuel naval vessels and armies from production centres and warehouses to any far-flung region where Eteno forces are deployed. These massive ships can carry the necessary supplies for hundreds of thousands of soldiers for a month, or a small fleet of naval vessels for the same amount of time. 170 crew man the ship, which stretches 850 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading Ship - ENS Regenbogen

Costel-class naval yacht (NY) - When an official isn't getting from system A to system B in a battleship, they're in a Costel-class yacht, travelling in style. Commissioned in 745 ATGW as an alternate transport option for the Supreme Commander. After the Supreme Commander at the time expressed her fondness of the ship, the Vice Commander was given one. Within a decade, many major government and military officials were riding in these yachts. Built as a luxury ship with bite, the class blends gourmet kitchens, swimming pools, gyms, luxury bedrooms, and posh game rooms with thick armour plating, battleship-level armament, and the capacity to serve as a working fleet flagship. A fleet of regular combat ships forming a protective screen around one of these is normally the first thing that a nation's ruler sees after a diplomat is sent to establish formal relations. This convoy plants a powerful impression in the minds of those the Eteno meet. 990 crew man the ship, which stretches 750 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading ship - ENS Kresimir

Fronz-class survey vessel (SV) - Since the early days of expansion, the efficient charting of star systems, planets, and anomalies has been a crucial part of ensuring safety of Eteno citizens and military vessels. Fronz-class survey vessels are long, tubular ships packed with all the necessary sensors and computers required for the exploration of new territory and dangerous stellar anomalies. Long-range engines ensure the Fronz can carry out its duties a significant distance from friendly territory. 31 crew man the ship, which stretches 180 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading ship - EES Lsory Islands

Sertnev-class minesweeper (MS) - Based off the design of the Jan-class frigate, Sertnev-class minesweepers perform the vital role of disarming hostile mines through a variety of methods, ranging from releasing electromagnetic pulses, reprogramming them, or simply blowing them up with one of six heavy railguns. These railguns, along with fifteen fighters stored in a small hangar at the front of the ship, are the only defense this class has against hostile vessels. 82 crew man the ship, which stretches 280 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading ship - ENS Cape Vayl

Ilioyna-class minelayer (ML) - A direct couterpart to the Sertnev-class, the Ilioyna-class lays down mines for blockades, checkpoints, area denial, and direct battle support. From a rear deployment bay, this class of minelayer can release clusters of small or large mines without compromising its defensive capacity. The Ilioyna-class carries all types of mines, ranging from EMP to explosive, corrosive acid-spewing to nanobot-deploying. As with most minelayers, the Ilioyna-class can recover its own unspent ordnance. 57 crew man the ship, which stretches 260 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading ship - ENS Getsen

Shezna-class research vessel (RC) - Stocked with all of the necessary laboratory and storage compartments one can normally find on a large research station, the Shezna-class can park itself around objects of interest, or chase them down with powerful engines. A small handful of defense guns are meant to fend off pirates or hostile scouts, and ten fighters and three bombers are carried in a hangar with seven smaller survey vessels. 145 crew man the ship, which stretches 340 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading ship - EES Eire

Symon-class bombardment vessel (BC) - When a target on the surface of a planet must be annihilated in the shortest amount of time, the Symon is what gets the job done. Built off the design of the Praetorian-class battleship, the Symon-class is roughly half the size, and instead of possessing a beak-like feature at the bow, a series of eight heavy beam cannons jut out from the hull, directly under the bridge. These weapons can fire over thirty shots per minute combined, and cause serious damage to anything they hit, or for that matter, anything remotely close to what they hit. While mostly relying on a handful of anti-fighter guns for self defense, in dire situations, these bombardment vessels have been known to turn their primary weapons on hostile capital ships. 204 crew man the ship, which stretches 360 metres from bow to stern. This class is no longer in production.

Leading ship - ENS Reynder

Gehnez-class naval tender (T) - Many ships have enough self-repair capacity to patch up any minor damage done during battle. Many ships are also more than capable of fixing up their strike craft in short order. Of course, almost all combat ships lack the capacity to repair critical damage to their systems and hull, or the capacity to bring a strike craft coming apart at the seams back to working order. Gehnez-class tenders are great rectangular vessels with room for all manner of craft in its truly cavernous repair bays. From lowly fighters to proud cruisers, these tenders will bring them back to full strength deep within the confines of their thick hull. For larger ships, such as dreadnoughts, carriers, and battleships, exterior modules and cranes supported by spacesuit-clad crewmen can provide all necessary repairs. Normally surrounded by a screen of light combat vessels, the Gehnez-class is not designed for fighting. Only a few anti-fighter guns make up this class of tender's armament. 960 crew man the ship, which stretches 4.2km from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading ship - ENS Admiral WillIiam Halsey

Obiria-class junk trawler (J) - In the vastness of interstellar space, there are countless pieces of manufactured material aimlessly adrift that have been torn from vessels in combat, or jettisoned. In the Eteno Imperial Triumvirate, when debris has been left by a ship in space, that location must be marked for Imperial Navy Obiria-class junk trawlers to collect. This class of trawler has an elongated, tubular hull with a large carbon-fiber trawl beneath it for scooping up interstellar debris. It boasts only a handful of anti-fighter guns, as it is not intended for use in dangerous areas without escort. Metal junk collected by the Obiria-class is melted down and sold to shipyards, while other materials are sold raw to scrap buyers. 27 crew man the ship, which stretches 130 metres from bow to stern. This class is currently in production.

Leading ship - ENS Obiria

M3-class sloop (S) - This class of sloop bridges the gap between small corvettes and shuttles and acts as an all-around utility vessel. It is small enough to be carried in the hangar of a cruiser or larger, but also has limited capacity to operate on its own without a parent vessel. The M3-class of sloop is armed with only six small point defense lasers and a single anti-ship beam mounted in the nose that is commonly used as a cutting tool for clearing debris or assisting with orbital construction. It can carry a maximum of thirty passengers and has four prison cells each with a capacity for two interned persons. The M3-class possesses an extendable airlock that grants it increased versatility when docking with stations or vessels, and it can even allow the sloop to safely take aboard the pilots of small craft directly from their cockpits. The M3-class is primarily used as a tug, large shuttle, debris-clearing vessel, very light escort, pilot ship, rescue vessel, strike craft pilot transfer vessel. This class of sloop is shaped like a cigar with a distinct bridge and crew section at the front shaped like an up-pointing pentagon. 6 crew man the ship, which stretches 46 meters from bow to stern. M3-class sloops (and some other auxiliary vessels) do not have official names, instead each sloop is referred to by its production number. For example, the tenth sloop built would be referred to as M3-10.

Leading ship - M3-1

M15-class small rescue sloop (S) - With a similar design style to the M3, the M15-class has few defining physical features aside from its enhanced size and a stern-mounted towing apparatus. The M15-class can pull vessels incapable of moving under their own power out of high-risk areas, such as regions close to black holes or in asteroid fields. It also comes equipped with facilities for treating wounded personnel, and has a medical bay with a capacity for 35 casualties. 14 crew man the ship, which stretches 78 meters from bow to stern.

Leading ship - M15-1

Land Forces[]

Walkers[]

PE-1000 – The PE-1000, for decades, formed the core of the once massive Imperial Army walker forces. Standing over twenty meters tall and boasting a wide array of weaponry, it proved to be a dangerous in the hands of a skilled pilot. Soon after the close of the 1st Buyuk War, the walker was no longer manufactured, and was taken out of service by 2140 AD. Many stockpiled units were used during the Kklxin War. One crewman operates the machine, which stands twenty meters tall.

Midge – Small in number and stature, Midge walkers are quick scouting vehicles, standing three meters high atop a set of three powerful and fragile legs easily damaged or destroyed. The walker's only armament is a pair of small anti-infantry lasers under the cockpit, nestled between one of many sensor banks. In absence of a pilot, a Midge can undertake basic self-preservation measures, and carry out some advanced orders if commanded by an identified friendly soldier outside of the cockpit. It serves its purpose as an anti-infantry screening vehicle well, but against anything greater than organic targets, it is hopelessly outmatched. One crewman operates the machine, which stands four meters tall.

Hunter – Designed to chase down and render inoperable retreating armored units, the Hunter is a quadrupedal walker consisting of a central cockpit section suspended between four jointed legs that allow for superior maneuverability in rough environments. A missile launcher beneath the cockpit pod can be armed with sixteen heat-seeking missiles for use against armored targets. One crewman operates the vehicle, which stands two meters tall.

Vehicles[]

Dnepr APC – One of the core mechanized infantry vehicles of the military, the Dnepr APC is a rugged infantry carrier more than capable of wading into battle and depositing troops safely. Its simple slanted armor of moderate thickness easily deflects small-arms fire, and significantly lessens the effect of light anti-vehicle weapons. Two doors at the front and back allow for personnel to board and exit quickly. For defense against light targets, a single anti-material gun is mounted on a compact turret above the cockpit. It is capable of operating autonomously, controlled by a targeting computer. Watertight design and a small outer motor allow the Dnepr APC to ford deep bodies of water, and cross lakes and rivers with relative ease. Fourteen Eteno passengers can be carried in the passenger bay. One crewmen operates the vehicle,

BTR-80

Two Dnepr APCs fording a river

which stands 2.5 meters tall.

Dnepr-2 APC - The Dnepr-2 APC was not built as a successor to the original Dnepr, instead it was designed to be a slower, better armed alternative. The Dnepr-2's armor is almost three times as thick as the original APC's, and it has additional armor for the driver. Two new additions are a fast-firing 36.2mm gun on the dorsal surface operated remotely by the driver that is highly effective against other vehicles and infantry, and an additional layer of special explosion-resistant armor on the vehicle's underbelly to protect against mines. One crewman operates the vehicle, which stands 2.7 meters tall.

Imriska RV-88 Communications Vehicle - The Imriska RV-88 is a dedicated secure communications and radar vehicle. A flatbed truck similar to the Tjasa-3, Imriskas mount a single armored radar dish surrounded by smaller radio towers on the bed, reinforced against small-arms fire and EMP weapons. Imriskas are deployed close to the front line, where pre-made camoflauge tarps shield the vehicle from aerial observers. Crew of 5.

Tjasa-3 Rocket Delivery Platform - T3RDPs are heavy trucks with a 12-tube Amsel-3 rocket launcher. This simple but efficient platform is used most commonly as a 'shoot and scoot' weapon, with groups commonly made up of five to fifteen vehicles relocating after concentrated barrages against fortified targets or area of effect attacks against sizable enemy formations. Crew of 2.

Pandur II

Balyikz ICV

Balyikz ICV - Widely reputed as one of the quickest and most versatile infantry combat vehicles in service with modern galactic militaries, the Balyikz ICV is an armored troop carrier with a light autocannon mounted on its dorsal surface. This gun can effortlessly rip apart infantry and light vehicles, allowing the soldiers disembarked from its passenger bay a much easier fight. Thick armor plating shields the Balyikz's crew from even light anti-armor munitions, and can easily deflect small-arms fire, like its cousin, the Dnepr. A Balykiz ICV can carry eighteen passengers. Two crewmen man the vehicle, which stands 2.2 meters high. Some newer models possess a pair of rocket launcher pods mounted on either side of the dorsal autocannon.

Kriz-C vehicle - The Kriz-C is an eigh-wheel drive cargo vehicle whose chassis is shared with the T3RDP and Imriska RV-88. It is a semi-articulated vehicle due to the fact that it can connect to two types of transport beds; one can articulate for superior mobility and the other remains locked in place for stability. A single Kriz-C can be attached to up to five beds for transport of standardized cargo containers. A small range of specialized beds are in use, including a crane bed, tanker bed, and personnel transport bed. A single crewman mans the vehicle, which stands 2.5 meters tall excluding any cargo or modified beds.

Zuzana

AO1 Npres

AO1 Npres artillery vehicle - Less common than its armored cousin, the AO1 Npres was a predecessor to the Type AO275 and was meant to be completely phased out by the latter's introduction. However, the downsizing of the gun and the lower speed of the AO275 meant that the AO1 still had a handful of advantages, and while the AO275 was and is a highly effective assault gun, it was unable to fill the niche of the AO1 as a dedicated long-range artillery gun. The mobile wheeled platform's gun can hit targets up to 45 miles away with a powerful explosive 208mm round, and the vehicle itself is fast and maneuverable enough to reposition rapidly after each shot if need be. Two crewmen man the vehicle, which stands 3.3 meters tall excluding the barrel.

Tanks[]

Conqueror MBT – The Conqueror tank is an effective vehicle used frequently by the ground forces. It has eight tread sections, four on each side, to ensure maximum terrain negotiation in any environment, as well as to mercilessly crush smaller vehicles. These tread sections are spread evenly across the ten-metre vehicle. It has two barrels, which fire devastating plasma rounds or regular tank shells. Crew of 4.

  • Conqueror AA Vehicle "Ichwerbe" - Built on the chassis of the Conqueror, the Ichwerbe is the one vehicle that allows Eteno troops to make progress in battles where the skies are not in their possession. The central turret is replaced with a single-barrel anti-aircraft autocannon covered with fourteen AA missile tubes. Unfortunately, tearing apart air targets is the only thing this vehicle can do, and thus, is normally found being escorted by two or three Conqueror MBTs, or an Emperor HBT.
  • Conqueror Recovery Vehicle "Diga" - Barely recognizable as a derivative of the Conqueror MBT, the CRV roams around the battlefield repairing and recovering damaged or destroyed vehicles. Instead of having a regular turret with a mounted crane at the center of the chassis, it is present at the very front of the vehicle. Here, a crane is mounted, between two repair nanobot pod launchers in the sloped frontal armour of the turret. Directly behind the turret is a vehicle bed large enough for all Eteno vehicles and field guns, except for tanks and the Halford Command Truck. Crew of 3.
  • Conqueror SPG "Titan" - Where the original Conqueror rides fearlessly into battle, wading through the fight with thick armour and devastating main guns, the SPG version of this vehicle tends to sit behind the lines, lighting up enemy positions with artillery fire. Mounted on a central turret is a rotating, three-barrel artillery gun with the capacity to fire all manner of ordnance, from fragmentation to armour-piercing, bunker-busting to flame-retardent. Crew of 4.
  • Conqueror Obstacle Clearer "Cruncher" - Unarmed and heavily armoured, the Cruncher rolls along the battlefield alongside regular troops to pulverize barricades and natural obstacles with a near-indestructable set of dozer blades, or crush obstructions beneath its greatly-reinforced tread sections. Many models have rear-mounted multi-shank ripper devices for clearing up land for road-paving and immediate military traffic. Crew of 3.
  • Conqueror Tank Hunter "Kryszwa" - Built for the role of a long-range tank hunter, fort-buster, and ambush vehicle, the Kryszwa forgoes much of the original vehicle's armor in exchange for a smaller profile and greater speed. The original dual-barrel gun is also replaced with a single longer gun, extending half the length of the vehicle past the end of the chassis. This gun can easily wreck the front armor of most tanks, and repeated hits can destroy even the most well-built fortifications and vehicles.

Emperor HBT - With a permeating desire to field a more intimidating and destructive vehicle doubling as a HBT and an infantry support tank, the Council of Generals called upon the manufacturers of the Conqueror to create a newer, more destructive tank. What they came up with was the Emperor. Built on the same type chassis as its lighter cousin, it is four metres longer than the Conqueror, but with the same amount of tread sections. Mounted on the turret are three barrels capable of firing plasma rounds almost twice as strong as those fired by the Conqueror, as well as 180mm HE shells, which can be modified to let loose thousands of small anti-infantry pellets on explosion. Also on the turret is a laser riot gun mounted to the left of the middle barrel for taking out infantry 360 degrees around the tank, and a 20mm AA cannon on top. Mounted on the front of the vehicle are two coaxial beam cannons which together are capable of pacifying targets 180 degrees in front of them, and 20 degrees above and below. Crew of 6.

Omnipotent SHBT - This is the vehicle that can send even the biggest HBT running for its life. Measuring the whole of forty metres, the Omnipotent is quite deserving of its name. Lumbering along on eight tread sections, the Omnipotent can lay waste to the battlefield with eighteen independent turrets spread out evenly along the sides of the chassis, each with two 230mm guns. Dual flamethrowers at the front of the chassis, heavy machine guns scattered between each heavy turret, three massive 900mm guns sitting between the flamethrowers, and six light artillry guns resting on the top of the chassis surrounding quad SAM launchers make up the rest of the imposing tank's armament. This monster vehicle sports armour capable of shrugging off the punishment that would demolish entire tank formations. Normally found surrounded by Emperor and Conqueror tanks, any charge led by an Omnipotent is very likely to succeed. As the vehicle is a large and easy target for air attack, the Omnipotent is only deployed when air superiority is a guarantee. Crew of 57.

HRV-2 Kaviga - Technically the second-largest tank in service with the Imperial Armed Forces, the Kaviga fills the role of a heavy recovery vehicle. Not suited for riding into battle on its four tread sections, Kaviga's stay behind the front line, picking up heavily damaged and destroyed vehicles with a large crane mounted on a frontal turret and taking them back to a base on its' long, wide vehicle bed large enough for anything but a Halford Command Truck or Omnipotent SHBT. Crew of 3.

Type AO275 Npres – Since its design in the late 700's ATGW, the Npres assault gun has been a symbol of power for the Imperial Armed Forces, a status well earned in action. It is a fast, agile armoured vehicle capable of lobbing a 160mm shell miles away, or merely a dozen metres forward. Thick, angled armour protects the vehicle and its crew, and reflective armour skirts keep the vehicle's two tread sections mostly safe from breakage on account of hostile fire. Crew of 4.

Seacraft[]

Abros LAAC-103 Smjuka - Quick, small, and light, the Smjuka carries up to two platoons of fully armed soldiers as well as a respectable load of supplies. It rushes ashore, using its high speed to evade enemy fire, before its passengers disembark out of eight side-mounted hatches. The Smjuka is generally the first assault vehicle ashore in an amphibious attack, depositing soldiers under covering rocket fire of heavier approaching vehicles. Crew of 5.

Abros MAACV 'Yakovlev' - Serving as a medium vehicle carrier for amphibious attacks, the Yakovlev can carry up to twenty tanks or thirty-five light vehicles, but lacks the facilities for the comfortable carriage of foot soldiers. Two rocket launchers mounted on either side of the bridge provide token fire support for disembarking vehicles. Crew of 7.

Wisclez Amphibious Carrier 14 Mk. II - With capacity for eight tanks or twenty light vehicles as well as over 500 men, the WAC14 is already a superior air-cushioned assault vehicle. In addition to its generous cargo capacity, two light autocannons and eight mounted rocket launchers provide considerable fire support for disembarking troops. While, in theory, the WAC14 can travel over land indefinitely, it has never gone more than a few miles inland in regular field use. Crew of 14.

Wisclez Amphibious Carrier

ER-4Vilmos-class GEV - A design alien to both the Eteno's allies and enemies, the Vilmos is a combat seacraft capable of attaining flight with twelve heavy tubojets and a set of forty-metre long inverse-delta wings. While the vehicle does possess a respectable armament of twelve long-range missile launchers hidden in the fuselage's dorsal surface and twelve heavy autocannons mounted in the wings is impressive, the Vilmos' true strength lies in the cargo capacity of 1,120 Eteno soldiers and their vehicles in addition to mass amounts of cargo. In amphibious assaults, the Vilmos-class can provide fire support and disembark assault forces on the beach or in shallow water with ease. Crew of 21.

Lubos-class patrol boat - Clocking in at ten metres long, the Lubos-class fills the role of a speedy, versatile patrol craft. A 3cm gun is mounted at the bow, and can hit both surface targets and air targets with ease. Torpedo launchers are also mounted on either side of the wheelhouse. For rear defense and additional AA defense, two machine guns are mounted on the stern. Crew of 5.

Tallensrad-class amphibious assault ship – The Tallensrad-class sits a fair distance away from the shore, pounding it with eight heavy railguns, divided into four turrets. It has a large well deck with two dozen small motorboats for transporting men, supplies, officers, and small vehicles to and from shore. If necessary, the well deck is capable of hosting an additional four Lubos-class patrol boats. Crew of 129.

Transports[]

GD-10 Troop Barge -The GD-10 is a dedicated space and atmospheric personnel carrier with room for 5,600 passengers on four passenger decks. Five crewmen man the ship, which stretches 150 meters in length.

Standardtransport C-1 - The C-1 is the standard atmospheric bulk carrier and air assault aircraft for the Imperial military. Four wings are connected to the tubular chassis, two on each side. The wings on either side are located diagonal to each other, one ahead and above the other. Up to 250 men and five vehicles can be carried and deployed in a combat situation, whereas 300 men and fifteen vehicles can be transported in a non-combat scenario. Two pilots crew the aircraft, which stretches 80 meters in length.

Standardtransport T-300 - The T-300 is the primary space hauler for vehicles, supplies, aircraft, and personnel for the land forces of the Eteno Imperial Armed Forces. Six outrigger-like cargo pods extend from the elongated body behind the bridge, each with its own independent life support systems, doors, and power generators. The central hull section is split in half horizontally, with the upper half storing aircraft and the bottom half storing cargo, personnel, and vehicles as well as possessing the primary cargo doors. The T-300 is unarmed and lightly armored, and moves in escorted convoys as much as possible. A single T-300 can carry an entire division of soldiers and their vehicles and supplies. Fifteen crewmen man the ship, which stretchs 1.1km in length.

Other[]

Tyjada Command Truck - The Tyjada is a huge five-sectioned truck that can serve as a command center or the center of one before or during an invasion before a regular base can be set up, which usually takes a day or so. The first section has the cab, living quarters, and armory. The second section contains radar, sensors, and satellite links. The third section is the planning room, with strategic computers, battlefield radars, and radio links to battlefield officers. The fourth section contains a mess hall. The last section is mainly storage space along with construction equipment. Crew of 26.

Infantry Weaponry[]

Model 55 Chemical Flame Weapon - Burning at four to five thousand degrees Fahrenheit, the Model 55 CFW projects a dicyanoacetylene flame with an oxygen catalyst, with copper sulfate aerosol moderating the quantity of heat-reducing water vapor. Due to the extreme heat, stench, and volatility associated with the weapon, Eteno flamethrower troops must be equipped with advanced armor suits to protect themselves.

M101 Tyzavhi grenade - Using a carefully-tailored cocktail of thermite and incendiary aid, the M101 creates a powerful explosion and sustained area denial effect through fire for use against infantry and light vehicles to great effect. However, the volatility of the munition means that Eteno soldiers are practically reduced to carrying only one or two with them in combat.

Absov-Iot ADR - A small, remote-controlled suicide drone fitted with a camera and enough explosives to destroy a small bunker.

M404 Stationary Weapon - The M404 is a bulky heavy machine gun transported in pieces by two-man teams, then assembled and deployed as a static emplacement.

Zejliko ATR - This long-barreled anti-tank rifle can easily penetrate tank and vehicle armour with specially-designed nanite-releasing AP rounds. Tank-hunting teams normally have at least one of these rifles to supplement standard rocket and laser AT weapons.

CF63 Iona - A portable infantry anti-air missile launcher with modern guidance systems and tracking technology to pursue aircraft by their heat signature or to an extent, their movement. The Iona is a disposable single-use missile launcher that can be broken apart for easy storage.

M14R-ATR - A simple but effective anti-tank weapon, the M14R fires an unguided armor-piercing rocket which detonates after penetrating an armored target, useful for destroying vital subsystems or killing crew.

DW-702 Combat Harpoon - With a design based off of traditional hunting equipment used by early Eteno, the DW-702 propels a hooked implement up to forty feet for use against lightly-armored targets underwater. The harpoon is married to the weapon by a sturdy bundle of carbon-fiber cords, allowing for it to retract after use.

M-13 Infantry Mortar - Hand-carried from position to position, sometimes only feet away from the thickest fighting, M-13s used in groups suppress enemy positions and annihilate enemy infantry and light armour with their high-explosive munitions, making the advance of friendly troops much easier.

HM-13 Field Mortar - Too bulky to move when under fire, HM-13 teams must be covered by friendly forces in order to set up at the front line, but once it does, it lobs anti-armour and explosive shells as far as a few miles. When working in conjunction with howitzers and artillery trucks, a crushing artillery fusillade can end a battle, or at least make victory very certain.

M20CR - Proving that semi-automatic rifles do indeed still have a place in modern warfare, the Model 20 Combat Rifle can quickly and accurately take down any infantry target with ease. Firing a large and versatile round, it is a powerful tool in the hands of a professional soldier.

M20CR

An M20CR with an attached scope and bipod.

GL13 - Considered a hand-held mortar, the GL13 is a box magazine-fed grenade launcher that can feed from three magazines simultaneously, allowing for more sustained fire. Grenades come in many different types, including incendiary, fragmentation, and poison.

BCM3 - Stun baton used by military police to subdue targets with blunt force and electricity.

JL-17 - Developed off of the M20CR, the JL-17 is one of several standard rifles in use by Eteno soldiers. Its design makes it most effective against targets mid to far range, though use in close quarters is possible.

JL-17

JL-17

Damjan SMG-7 - Medium-sized, powerful, and light, the SMG-7 is the perfect close-combat weapon for Eteno infantry. With a fifty-round magazine, it can even serve to lay down a good amount of suppressive fire or take down numerous targets in a compact time span.

SMG-7

SMG-7

Domal-Z Sidearm - This sidearm is used extensively by the armed forces due to its reliability and light weight. Its scope is an optional addition, usually carried around in a separate pouch

Domal Z

in case the need to engage targets at medium range with the sidearm arises.

Verta HR115 - The HR115 is one of the few infantry laser weapons in use with Eteno soldiers. Its flexibility and add-ons allow for it to be used in two 'modes', one as an anti-material weapon, and the other as a regular infantry rifle. The anti-material mode allows it to fire off powerful bolts capable of piercing light vehicle armor once every minute, and the infantry rifle mode turns it into a standard, quick-firing beam weapon useful against unarmored and lightly armored infantry. When in anti-material mode, the HR115 is usually serviced by two soldiers.

M100 - The latest in the M series of sniper rifles is a powerful, semi-automatic gun with a modern self-adjusting scope and electronic rangefinding and target tracking tool. The expensivene per-unit price for M100 rifles means that only experienced snipers are assigned one in mint condition off of the assembly line.

SD600 - An alternate rifle built by the manfacturers of the M series, the SD600 is essentially a cheaper version of the M100. It has only a basic scope and manual rangefinder in place of the high-tech attachments on the M100, but all other features remain the same.

Bergeba-Varnava P0140 - Used alongside the Domal Z, the P0140 is a double-barrel, double-handled pistol with semi-automatic as well as automatic firing modes. It has pitiable accuracy, but is very useful as a close-range self-defense weapon.

Imrosa Personal Protection Tool - Sporting a humble name and an unassuming size, Imrosa's personal defense weapon is an effective and compact SMG made for vehicle crew and pilots with little space for carrying anything much larger than a sidearm.

Imrosa PPT

An unfolded Imrosa PPT

U9 Kobola-MG - The U9 is a medium-sized infantry machine gun with advanced cooling equipment and an internal mechanism which lowers chance of misfiring to near zero. This makes it a useful and reliable weapon for engagements at any range.

JX-9 Flashbang – This grenade emits enough light and noise to render someone blind and deaf for up to a minute.

VM-102 – Cheap and common, the VM-102 is an inaccurate and moderately powered battle rifle used most often in close and mid-range engagements. Its high recoil and low muzzle velocity make it bad for long range combat, but its design allows greater control over the weapon and its ruggedness makes it a popular choice for infantry operating in areas where weather conditions make weapon maintenance a challenge.

VM-102

VM-102

Nova 112 ATM - Expensive, powerful, and effective, the Nova 112 launches a guided missile which can be controlled from the launcher itself or by a computer within the missile. Both are programmed to be able to recognize many different armored targets and direct the missile into lightly armored spots.

Generation 2

Generation 2

Koba-41 – Firing titanium-core ammunition, the Koba-41's accuracy, compact size, and operational flexibility make it the most popular weapon with Eteno troops. It is efficient at all combat ranges and is easily cleaned and disassembled for maintenance.

SKAR-41

Koba-41

Generation 2 - Built by the same manufacturer of the Koba-41, the Generation 2 rifle is a prototype replacement for the aging Koba-41 platform. The Generation 2 is expected to be the last major addition to the Imperial Armed Forces' inventory of service rifles before the military's conversion to energy-based weapons.

Personnel and Organization[]

Recruitment and Training[]

"The tip of your barrel shall be held exactly five unigrams from the bridge of your nose! Then you shall move your rifle to the standard firi- GUN-BREAKER, TURN YOUR EYES FORWARD! DID I GIVE YOU AN ORDER TO STARE AT LIEUTENANT STOJAN? NO! DO FIFTEEN FULL ROTATIONS THEN RETURN TO FORMATION, AND DO NOT LET YOUR EYES WANDER AGAIN!"

- Mid-Sergeant Dumitru Vukoja in the autobiography of Ivanov Monore, who went on to captain ENS Tralaban, and became Supreme Commander in the steps of his adopted father.

Renowned throughout the galaxy for unyielding harshness towards cadets of all branches, races, and backgrounds, Eteno Imperial Armed Forces training turns young men and women, many just out of Advances, into deadly weapons, gears in a devastating war machine. Most are enlisted personnel, while others train to become officers or earn the right to train as an officer through exemplary service to the fatherland.

Recruitment and Drafting[]

During times of military emergency, the EIT government reserves the right to enact a draft of men from the ages of eighteen to thirty, drawn from an independent database of able-bodied individuals. Currently, the draft is currently in effect so as to require all male Eteno, as well as the Aphbrec, Chyrian, and Kr'aszazz races join the armed forces within two months of turning 16, 23, 49, and 13 respectively. A small percentage of individuals on the draft list are considered for officer school based on their grades and physical prowess. Female (and male during times of peace) volunteers can directly apply for officer school, and can be flunked out of BCT or officer training at any point (This is common for females as physical fitness requirements are the same for both genders).

Regardless of whether they are entering officer school in the future or enlisting directly, men and women are sent to Basic Combat Training Camp (BCTC), where for nine weeks, they are thoroughly trained, drilled, and worked up to and beyond their physical limits. Draftees, unlike volunteers, are unable to flunk out of BCTC, and must continually go through BCTC until they pass. After BCTC, enlisted men move on to Advanced Combat Training School (ACTS), where men choose their preferred military occupation and enter training for the job they are assigned (hopefully the one that they requested). Those who are both eligible and choose to go to a Combat/Non-Combat Officer School (C/NCOS) where they choose their preferred military occupation and for four years are further trained physically and academically for their assigned craft (hopefully the one that they requested). The only deviation from this system is for pilot cadets, who partake in six months of academic, physical, and flight training. Pilot and officer cadets can be flunked down to ACTS for another position.

BCTC[]

The first stop for all cadets Basic Combat Training Camps exist on most populated Eteno worlds. It is here that all members of the Imperial Armed Forces receive their most important training. In only nine weeks, civilians are molded into fighting men and women. Note that physical conditioning and discipline training is present at all stages of training.

Week 1 - Reception - Cadets are assigned quarters, instructors, gear, and clothing. Constant drilling and discipline training is punctuated only by harsh physical conditioning. Those deemed eligible for officer training receive harsher treatment from drill sergeants.

Week 2 - CQB Training - Cadets, now more disciplined and knowledgable regarding military matters, are trained in melee combat. The standard Armed Forces Close Combat Method is taught to cadets, which encompasses fist fighting, knife fighting, fighting with a sword or blunt object, and fighting with a bayonet. Greater discipline is also enforced.

Week 3 - CQB Training 2 - Continuation of Armed Forces Close Combat Method training. Physical conditioning reaches new heights. Cadets practice what they've learned on each other for the first time.

Week 4 - Firearms - Cadets are taught proper usage, maintenance, and discipline of all manner of infantry weapons, including rifles, carbines, pistols, anti-tank weapons, mortars, machine guns, and lasers.

Week 5 - Live Fire - Live fire training of all weapons listed above.

Week 6 - Combat Tactics - Infantry combat skills and tactics are taught to cadets. Both day and night scenarios are run through.

Week 7 - Combat Tactics 2 - Advanced infantry combat skills and tactics are taught to cadets.

Week 8 - Special Warfare - Cadets are trained in rappelling, ship raids, hostage situations, and all other sorts of special situations and scenarios.

Week 9 - The Underworld - Aptly named, this is when training is the worst. Physical conditioning and discipline training reach their peak, and cadets are pushed to the limit.

A vast majority of cadets perform well enough through these nine weeks to be graduated, and officially called members of the Imperial Armed Forces. Their next stop is ACTS or C/NCOS.

ACTS and C/NCOS[]

All members of the military receive training in their specializations at government-run military academies that may have hundreds or thousands of locations across the empire. Members of the military may be put through more than one academy to be trained for their occupation, and can volunteer for further training once they have been fully trained and in active service for at least two years. Further training opens up expanded pay opportunities and the chance to switch occupations or branches within the armed forces.

Officers are required to attend a military four-year academy before receiving training for a specific occupation. Cadets can be recruited from within the military or recruited or drafted from the civilian population.

ACTS stands for Advanced Combat Training School, which is required for all personnel to attend to acquire training in a specialization. C/NCOS is Commanding/Non-Commanding Officer School, which is required only of officer cadets.

Imperial Army and Marines Rifle Academy[]

The largest ACTS in the Imperial Armed Forces school system, IAMRA produces endless legions of infantry for the great Eteno war machine. Almost all infantry disciplines are taught here, aside from some specialized disciplines, allowing cadets to acquire intense training over the course of five weeks in all aspects of their job, and advanced infantry skills. IAMRA is stereotypically the harshest ACTS, with the stereotypical tough-guy 'Sergeant Stanislaw' becoming an object of mockery. Ironically, IAMRA's biggest rival, IAFSC, is generally the toughest ACTS on cadets. As one would expect, training for marine cadets has greater focus on maritime operations than inland operation, while army training is the opposite.

Imperial Secondary Academy[]

Military personnel who desire to fulfill a secondary optional role as a musician are cycled through the ISA regardless of their past experience with whatever instruments they may be focusing on.

Imperial Air Infantry Academy[]

Soldiers in training to be among the ranks of the Imperial Armed Forces' elite air dropped infantry are sent through IAMRA for regular training, and then sent to the Imperial Air Infantry Academy. Here, cadets receive advanced training in the use of disposable jet packs for deployment from aircraft at high or low altitudes. Cadets are also rigorously trained in vertical assault tactics and extended survival techniques. Graduates of IAIA form the ranks of one of the most iconic and respected forces in the galaxy.

Imperial Armed Forces School of Cavalry

Encompassing all manner of armoured cavalry warfare, courses at the IAFSC make hardened tankers, scouts, and elite guard cuirassiers out of the men and women inducted into the ranks of the school's many students. Cadets at the IAFSC first learn the ins and outs of their future occupation in the classroom, before moving to the training fields to become intimately acquainted with the workings of armour and support vehicles.

Imperial Armed Forces Weapon and Ordnance Repair School[]

Arguably the least physically-taxing ACTS, cadets at IAFWORS are highly-trained in the construction, repair, and operation of all infantry and vehicle weapons, and their ammunition. For those incapable of entering the IES, whether because of their low academic performance or sub-standard physical capacity, IAFWORS can be a good stepping stone to becoming an engineer. Those with over four years of good performance in an IAFWOR-related job can apply to the IES.

Imperial Engineers School[]

Condensing potentially six to eight years of higher learning into four months, IES trains the mechanics, engineers, and future scientists that make up the scaffolding of one of the largest armed forced in the galaxy. While physical conditioning is an important aspect to military repair and engineering, intense classroom study and field training make up most of the IES curriculum. Only some of the smartest enter IES, and only the smartest of the smartest graduate. This ensures that regular troops, pilots, and sailors can focus on their own job and not have to worry about their equipment, vehicles, ships, and structures.

Imperial Marines Diver School[]

One of the smaller schools, IMDS is not exactly the school that all cadets dream of attending. That doesn't make IMDS any less important or tough, though. One can only attend IMDS after graduating from marine IAMRA. It is at this school that in the course of only eight weeks, cadets are thoroughly instructed in all facets of the Marine Diver Forces. Without graduates of IMDS, sea operations and amphibious attacks would be significantly costlier.

Armed Forces Administration and Technical Academy[]

Sterotypically the easiest school to graduate from, AFATA is far from easy to complete. In ten weeks, cadets partake in constant computer, logistics, management, and other administrative classes, with very little free time or rest. Without these graduates, a military model of efficiency would shortly break down.

Imperial Officers Academy[]

IOA, over four years, provides well-trained officers with college-level education and military dedication and discipline to all branches of the Imperial Armed Forces. Combining traditional academic classes, field training, physical conditioning, and drilling to create some of the best officers in the galaxy.

Air Officer Academy[]

Air Officer Academies, as counterpart to the Imperial Air Force Flying Academies, train Navy pilots in operation of the variety of small craft used in orbital, sub-orbital, and limited atmospheric theaters. Like most other flight schools across the galaxy, cadets endure several weeks of classroom study combined with training flight simulators before getting in the cockpit of an actual air or space craft of the Eteno Imperial Armed Forces. However, when cadets finally do get in the pilot's seat, they will train all day, and sometimes, all night for well over eight hundred hours total. While flight training is exceptionally long, individual schools in the AOA school system all train and produce battle-ready pilots in a deliberate pattern, ensuring that there is always a steady stream of fliers ready to replace whatever losses are suffered.

Imperial Armed Forces Police Academy[]

Imperial military police are required to handle many different kinds of volatile situations, as well as enforce standard law and conduct general administrative work. At the IAFPA, cadets receive the training necessary to enforce all aspects of law within and outside the military at any time it is needed. Administrative training is also given, but focus is put more on police operation.

Armed Forces Special Operations Academy[]

All non-espionage special operations outfits run their prospective members through AFSOA, which offers the most grueling training the military has to offer. Almost any type of training imaginable is carried out at AFSOA in order to maintain the prestigious and effective corps of special forces available to the Imperial military.

Imperial Naval Academy[]

The Imperial Naval Academy is an age-old institution dating back to when Eteno first broke into the stars. Its modern training institutions exist in orbit around planets or stars as ships and space stations, and offer advanced and realistic training as well as the required informational education to maintain the complicated systems of Imperial Navy installations and vessels, and to use them offensively and defensively. Many small, aged Navy vessels are repurposed for use as training ships for INA.

Imperial Support School[]

Specialized disciplines of the Eteno Imperial Armed Forces' ground branches receive their training at ISS, which provides the specific and expert instruction necessary to create the skilled, specialized forces synonymous with the Imperial Army and Marine Corps.

Imperial Army and Marines Vehicle School Vehicle drivers and crews receive instruction in the operation and maintenance of military vehicles at IAMVS. Field training with surplus vehicles is coupled with academic instruction on the mecahnical complexities of the vehicles cadets aspire to crew.

Imperial Artillery School[]

Artillery operators in the Imperial military are trained at IAS to efficiently and accurately utilize the different guns and artillery vehicles in service to provide fire for Eteno troops. Instruction is almost exclusively field training, with a small amount of academic instruction on the operation and development of artillery weaponry.

School of Biological and Chemical Warfare[]

Use of biological weaponry within the Eteno Imperial Armed Forces has historically been well-regulated and professionally-handled, used with precision to cause chaos amongst enemy forces or to cause damage to enemy infrastructure. At the School of Biological Warfare, cadets are given advanced instruction on biological and chemical science, and are acquainted with the substances and organisms in service as well as the full extent of their effects.

Armed Forces Lifesaver Academy[]

Arguably some of the most valuable members of the military are produced in the AFLA, those who selflessly risk their lives to save those of their comrades. Rescue divers, combat medics, and all other medical occupations are gained through tutelage and graduation at AFLA. Months of grueling physical conditioning and medical study ensures that graduates are more than capable of both killing and healing. It takes only two months to produce a medic, but doctors require a year of training. Doctor training can only be received if a medic has had at least three years of service, and a highly commendable service record. They can then apply for AFLA doctor training, and if accepted, receive a year of training equivalent to three years of modern medical school.

Imperial Air Force Flying Academy[]

As counterpart to the Air Officer Acadmies, the Imperial Air Force Flying Academy is the final destination for Imperial Air Force pilot hopefuls. Much like the AOA, rigorous classroom study is paired with constant simulator training, which is penultimate to actual flight training. As IAF pilots need not too great instruction on the workings of starship-based aviation, training only takes five months, with classroom study taking place in only two. Several review classes are, of course, present in the last three months of training, but flight practice is the undeniable focus. The IAF enjoys a fearsome reputation amongst the EIT's many enemies, and rightly so, for the pilots that leave the IAFFA are some of the most dangerous in the galaxy.

Imperial Air Force School of Ground Staff[]

IAFSGS exists for the jobs that take you halfway in the Imperial Air Force. No flying is taught, but instead technical information regarding the IAF's equipment, support vehicles, aircraft, ordnance, and electronics, as well as the skills to utilize them in the field. IAFSGS produces fit and knowledgable ground staff capable of performing all necessary actions required to get an aircraft in the air in pristine condition. Classroom study plays a lesser role in instruction, as IAFSGS focuses more on hands-on training. This means that cadets leave with greater understanding of their actual job, in regards to carrying out all of the actions required to complete it. Much of the war glory may go to pilots, but those same pilots never let their egos prevent them from recognizing the invaluable services IAF ground staff provide.

Armed Forces School of Psychological Operation[]

The newest school system to be formed for the armed forces, the AFSPO can create a cunning, cold, and calculating psychological warfare specialist out of anyone. Through both hands-on experience and intense desk learning, AFSPO graduates incur crippling demoralization amongst the ranks of the enemy.

Imperial Navy School of Espionage[]

Despite its name suggesting otherwise, the INSE does not train intelligence specialists exclusively for the Imperial Navy. The INSE was formed when the only military branch in possession of a formal intelligence unit was the Navy, and thus, was named as a naval espionage school. Currently, the INSE rigorously trains cadets in all forms of espionage and intelligence gathering and analyzing, while developing them mentally and physically to deal with any and all threats and challenges they may encounter while on missions, analyzing information, or commanding missions.

Organization of Forces[]

For more on the chain of command, see Eteno Imperial Armed Forces chain of command.

Ground, crew, and aviation assets are divided into sets of units with a set number of members or as a set fraction of a parent unit. Very small formations, such as the aviation complements of small ships and the ground crews of small airstrips can circumvent some organization conventions.

Any unit can be deployed away from its parent unit (such as two companies being deployed separate from the rest of their division, or a squadron being deployed to partake in a small-scale support mission), but the unit remains subsidiary of its parent organization and its officers.

Divisional Roles[]

While all Army, Reserve Guard, and Marine divisions share some similarities, like the presence of at least a few infantry formations, police units, and medical units, all have some sort of operational specialty afforded by a specific composition different from other divisions.

Infantry[]

Balanced division consisting of mainly mechanized infantry units, artillery, and armour elements. Infantry divisions form the mainstay of the EIT land forces, and are highly operationally flexible.

Light Infantry[]

Highly mobile division with mainly mechanized infantry units, with some supporting armour elements, and minimal artillery elements. Light infantry divisions lack the capacity to take on heavily fortified positions or large armoured forces, but have greater combat speed and maneuverability. Light infantry divisions are commonly deployed as flanking elements.

Heavy Infantry/Armor Grenadier[]

Slow and durable division with mainly mechanized infantry units, with substantial supporting armor, artillery, and engineer elements. While much less maneuverable and quick than light and regular infantry divisions, heavy infantry divisions - also known as armor grenadier divisions - have the capacity to successfully take on fortified positions and protected forces with ease. Heavy infantry divisions cover the flanks of other infantry units during attacks, and send mobile anti-tank units along with the attack's spearhead. Attacks against more fortified opponents are led by heavy infantry divisions, who possess all the needed resources to break through determined resistance. Assault gun elements of heavy infantry divisions are normally operationally detached, as they are vital in any attack.

Armour[]

Quick and powerful division consisting of primarily tank and heavy vehicle forces with supporting mechanized elements. Armour divisions form the spearhead of many attacks, and independently fill many combat roles. Eteno advancements in tank technology and doctrine have made armoured divisions of the EIT capable of assailing most all targets.

Artillery[]

Rear-echelon support division consisting of large and small artillery, assault guns, and minimal armoured elements. Artillery divisions never go on the attack on their own, instead providing valuable fire support to friendly forces. Eteno artillery, just like Eteno tanks, is both deadly and accurate.

Mechanized[]

Quick and dangerous division consisting of mainly infantry mounted on offensive transport vehicles, with armour and artillery elements. Mechanized troops make quick and constant advances, and are capable of rapidly enveloping and destroying hostile forces. Mechanized infantry are protected by their vehicles' weapons and armour, and aided by their speed and capacity to cross difficult terrain.

Medical[]

Support division consisting of mainly medical personnel with minimal infantry and motorized elements. Medical divisions ensure that wounded soldiers are cared for and made likely to survive. Motorized medical elements may also participate offensively in combat, providing critical immediate care that regular infantry medics may be unable to give on their own as well as moderate fighting capability.

Police[]

Policing division consisting of mainly military police with some mechanized and infantry elements. Police divisions keep the peace wherever they are posted, from military bases to occupied planets. Police divisions are much better at pacifying possible resistance in occupied territory, as their personnel are armed with advanced peacekeeping and sensitivity training regular infantry lack.

Logistical Support[]

Non-combat division consisting of logistical staff required for the maintenance of military units and infrastructure. Logistical support divisions do much of the dirty work associated with keeping a war machine running, and contain administrative staff, technical specialists, intelligence analysts, supply specialists, and all other required personnel.

Airmobile[]

Highly mobile division consisting mainly of infantry with mechanized, motorized, artillery, and armoured elements transported by hoverjet and fixed-wing aircraft. Airmobile forces are able to move from position to position rapidly, and are effective at nullifying even well entrenched targets. Airmobile divisions are usually more maneuverable than airborne units and require less constant supply, but lack some heavy weapons which airborne forces possess.

Airborne[]

Highly mobile division consisting mainly of infantry with mechanized, artillery, and armoured elements transported mainly by fixed-wing aircraft and by some hoverjet. Airborne divisions can be inserted into most combat environments without taking excessive losses, and successfully establish stable positions from which to attack or defend. Airborne divisions are stronger and more capable of taking on large forces than airmobile divisions, but tend to be less maneuverable and require more supplies to continue operation.

Mixed Cavalry[]

Highly mobile vehicle division consisting mainly of mechanized infantry units with supporting armoured elements transported by hoverjet. Mixed cavalry divisions rarely operate as a whole, instead deploying individual vehicle units to support friendly defensive or offensive actions. Mixed cavalry divisions can be quickly moved from place to place, and pack considerable punch, making them important tools for mounting or continuing offensives as well as fending off hostile attacks.

Engineer[]

Mechanized infantry division consisting mainly of engineering and demolition troops with armoured and artillery support. Engineer divisions work in support of regular infantry and armoured troops to take down fortified enemy positions as well as enemy forces set up in civic areas. Specially trained and highly mobile mechanized engineer troops make hostile fortifications all but inert in the face of determined Eteno assault.

Special Forces and Espionage Units[]

Special forces units have historically been deployed by the EIT for a wide variety of purposes, and those deployed by the nation are some of the toughest ever seen.

Imperial Naval Infantry - Some of the most dangerous men in the empire, naval infantry are elite combat units deployed to protect ships and installations to the last man, or board and seize hostile vessels. Regularly, they will accompany Army and Marine personnel during planetary invasions, taking on missions that only the most veteran personnel could endure. They have been known paradrop into oceans, swim to shore, take enemy positions, and hold them for weeks, even months at a time with little to no logistical support.

Naval Piracy Rapid Reaction Force - The NPRRF is an elite anti-piracy unit tasked with protecting high-value Eteno convoys, and hunting lone or grouped pirate ships all across the galaxy. The NPRRF is the only Eteno force which the Galactic Senate has granted unrestricted passage rights through the territory of minor member nations. The NPRRF is made up of ships and crews with extensive combat experience, and special psychological and combat training focused on preserving civilian life and property, and disabling enemy ships as quickly as possible. Also part of the force are elite naval commandos, veteran naval sailors and soldiers from other branches given year-long specialty classes focusing on ship boarding, combat, and seizure. The NPRRF normally disables pirate ships and civilian ships taken hostage, before sending commandos to capture or execute pirates, seize pirate data and property, and liberate civilian ships.

Black Vests – The Black Vests, true to their name, are identified by their dark, bulletproof apparel. They are deployed to guard high-level military officers and government officials. While the details of their training are heavily classified, it is known that it takes at least three years for a brigade of Imperial Marine Corps Black Vests to be raised. It is unusual for someone under Black Vest protection to receive more than two guards, those who have seen them in action agree that two is more than enough.

Imperial Air Force Rescue Division - Veteran doctors and medics in service with the Imperial Armed Forces, after several years of service, occasionally are given the option of receiving elite combat training and advanced surgical instruction. These specially trained medical personnel are then given parachute training, if not already received. What are created are members of the Imperial Air Force Rescue Division. The IAFRD inserts highly trained combat doctors via parachute into unusual combat terrain to deliver high level medical care to wounded soldiers, as well as to assist in fending off any further hostile action.

Special Intelligence Service - Made up of millions of highly skilled engineers, scientists, surveillance specialists, spies, saboteurs, and insertion specialists, the SIS has few equals in both effectiveness and secrecy. Its task is to collect vital military information from enemies and allies alike, and to dispatch small units to carry out sabotage, kidnapping, assassination, theft, and rescue operations vital to maintaining and increasing Eteno power. Possessing hundreds of facilities across EIT and EIT-influenced space, and thousands of agents in foreign space, it is extremely difficult to get something past the ever-present eyes and ears of the SIS.

Omdak - Serving as the primary protection unit for the Supreme and Vice Commanders, Omdak has its roots nearly a hundred years prior to the The Great War. Originally mere amalgamations of veteran mercenary units, Omdak squads were assigned to the protection of law officials. However, as larger and more powerful nations started to form, countries formed their own Omdak teams made up of well-trained professional soldiers. After the Eteno race unified into the EIT, one great Omdak unit was formed to protect the new leaders of the nation. The modern Omdak is made up of veteran Imperial Army and Marine Corps soldiers, as well as many special forces veterans. These personnel protect the Supreme and Vice Commanders, as well as their vehicles, ships, and aircraft in a myriad of ways. For example, if the Supreme Commander rides in a hovertruck from a meeting to a starport, Omdak will be escorting him in armoured vehicles, ranging from mere cars to military personnel carriers, or covering him from all manner of places on foot. Omdak is also not restricted to covering him directly, and sends personnel out in force to secure the entire city. Wherever the Supreme and Vice Commanders go, Omdak follows, many thousands strong, whether to the frontline or an exotic foreign capital.

Zvezda - When absolutely nobody else will do, Zvezda will. With one of the toughest selection processes ever seen, Zvezda is the pinnacle of exclusive professionalism. Recruits are handpicked from other special forces units, and thrust into twelve weeks of unbelievably harsh physical trial. While many come close to dying, these people are removed from the trials before they pass, however close that moment may be. After the physical trials, during which 97% of applicants are eliminated, a year of advanced tactical training begins. Five-man teams are formed, and these teams train, work, and live together for all of their time in training, and if they survive, will serve together in the field with no exception. Each person is responsible for the whole group, and if one man fails, the whole group does. Only eighty Zvezda teams exist at any time, with any losses to enemy action and retirement replaced within a few weeks. These eighty teams conduct top-secret operations of all kinds, from training foreign insurgent forces to assassinating rival leaders, rescuing high-level hostages and stealing experimental ships from under the noses of enemy nations.

Imperial Lifeguards - When a member of any special forces outfit retires from the armed forces, he or she is given a choice to join the Imperial Lifeguards. Belonging to the Reserve Guard, the Imperial Lifeguards are reserve internal security units for high-ranking government and military officials. Five weeks a yaer, Lifeguards convene and train. In times of crisis, the Imperial Lifeguards can be activated by the Supreme Commander to supplement Omdak and other guard units.

1st Imperial Division 'Wedding Crashers' - Officially the first division formed in the Imperial Army, the 1st Imperial is a guard unit for Malisk II. Should the world come under attack, the 1st Imperial is designated to lead any defense or counterattack. Few of the division's members come from Malisk II, as members are handpicked from Imperial Army units across the EIT. The 1st Imperial is also fully integrated, with all four military races of the EIT serving in the unit. The division's nickname is derived from a battalion's deployment at the behest of Supreme Commander Metchel Kruden to interrupt his daughter's wedding ceremony in 157 ATGW. Kruden was suspicious that the potential husband desired only political prestige, a suspicion proven correct three years later after an extensive investigation. While humorous, this event did result in the passage of several laws regarding the ability of a supreme commander to domestically deploy military units without the blessing of any military commands.

Special Naval Boarding Force - For Kr'aszazz members of the Eteno Imperial Armed Forces, exemplary combat performance can be rewarded with a chance to train for the SNBF. Formed exclusively of Kr'aszazz, the SNBF handles critical and high-profile boarding operations. As Kr'aszazz are exceptionally resilient to the harsh conditions of space as well as the effects of most small arms, tasks assigned to the SNBF are always completed quickly and efficiently. SNBF training involves two years of extensive honing of physical conditioning, tactical training, naval and software engineering, and nuclear engineering.

Muurineachtvendonsazst - No information is available on the Navy Intelligence Service. Method of recruitment is unknown. Training is unknown. Activities are unknown. Bases are unknown.

Dola Brigade - Consisting of murderers, saboteurs, and skilled criminals, the Dola Brigade is a brigade-sized unit of unsavory types pressed into service to conduct a wide range of dangerous operations in enemy territory with the smallest chances of success, let alone survival. One can volunteer for service or be forcibly recruited in order to have their criminal record dropped after thirty missions, but the atrocious odds for survival means that in the nearly 200 years the Dola Brigade has been in existence, fewer than twenty have ever left the unit alive. Tholker Zhevhyit was one of the survivors of the Dola Brigade, and the only member to volunteer for more than thirty missions.

Imperial Special Light Infantry - Recruited from veteran Army personnel with no less than six years of experience, members of the ISLI are as merciless as they are deadly. Light Infantrymen candidates must be unmarried and lack children, and must agree to surrender their individual rights wholly to the military. After giving away their freedom, candidates go through a year of guerilla training, six months of survival training, and six months of 'hardening'. This final hardening stage is where almost half of the ISLI's candidates die. It's little more than six months of brutal and exotic torture, mixed with SIS-conducted brainwashing sessions. Some hardening techniques include ferocious beatings with burning metal clubs, sleep deprivation, starvation, controlled immolation, and a graduation challenge which includes drinking the blood of candidates killed during training. Light Infantrymen are organized into battalions, deployed to assist Eteno forces in large-scale battles, harass occupying forces behind enemy lines, and cause general mayhem. ISLI battalions have been known to operate for years at a time causing disruption of the enemies of the EIT, adapting to their environments to ensure their survival and continued operational capacity. ISLI members are mentally conditioned to have complete and utter loyalty to the EIT, making them all but impossible to interrogate without heavy use of drugs and machines. ISLI members also do not retire, serving in their battalions until death, with the oldest members having untold experience under their belt.

Tradition[]

Special Forces and Stogorki[]

Eteno have long held a reputation of being able to endure supreme hardships. Even after intense beating from an enemy or the environment itself, the Eteno are always quick to turn and strike back at whatever foe stands in their way. This is a main focus of Eteno special forces training and culture. The Eteno special forces operator is historically crafted to be a weapon, with all of his or her equipment being mere additions. He or she is trained to withstand greater difficulties than most other special forces outfits in the galaxy, as well as to use anything and everything to its maximum extent. From a simple assault rifle, an Eteno special operator can derive dozens of uses, both in and out of combat. Traditional close combat weapons also stay close to the operator's heart, his or her skill honed over their entire career to multiply their own power as much as possible with the daggers, knives, or shovels of their ancestors. When these tools fail, however, the Eteno operator does not, armed with his or her own myriad of skills, the least of which not being Stogorki.

An ancient martial art dating back hundreds of years before 1 ATGW, Stogorki is a lethal, fast, and fluid art. It is the heart of Eteno military close combat, being one of the biggest inspirations for the standardized military martial art. Most special forces units are taught the art, which centres around smooth, natural, relaxed movement to outmaneuver attackers and immobilize them. Even the most basic moves of Stogorki are lethal to some extent, relying on the self-control of the practitioner to not result in a target's death should the situation not allow it. Many who have seen the art of Stogorki in action have been unnerved more by the focused serenity of practitioners than the fact that they breeze through dozens of opponents at a time.

Song[]

The tradition of song in the Eteno military is associated with the two primary environments for singing. The parade ground for organized formations to sing on the march with full orchestral accompaniment, and the battlefield, where singing to bring soldiers together and raise morale can have an accompaniment of artillery, gunfire, and the general chaos of combat. There are dozens of songs imbedded in military tradition, but only a few are very widely known and popular.

Kati[]

A traditional marching song dating back long before the Eteno unified as a single nation, Kati is a general marching tune for all branches of the Imperial Armed Forces, but is used most commonly by the Imperial Army.

On a little hill in the woods blooms a little flower bush, and it's called the Kati

Hot from the warm sun shining down upon Kati

because its flowers are so beautiful for the eye to see

On a little hill in the woods blooms a little flower bush, and it's called the Kati

With my wife back home lives my little daughter and she's called Kati

She's my sweet, kind little girl and she's called Kati

when the bushes on the hill bloom in the warm glow of the sun,

she goes rushing out to pick them

On a little hill in the woods blooms a little flower bush, and it's called the Kati

In my room a small bush bloom on the windowsill and it's called Kati

When I rise in the morning and lay down in the night, it looks at me

And then it seems to ask me,

"Are you thinking of your little girl?"

Back home a little girl waits for her daddy, and she's called Kati

All Eteno Have Risen[]

The original version of All Eteno Have Risen was a propaganda piece written by the Vyzalinkhian government during the Great War that found surprising popularity. A modified version originated when the bloodiest urban fighting began, and has been the quintessential version ever since. The first verse is meant to be sung by women, the second by men, and the rest of the verses by all soldiers.

Days ago I had a dream

A soldier holding the flag

Burning on its pole brought from the fight

The soldier turned to me and his face stunned me

Rise up, men, the nation is calling you!

I will take care of the home, do not fear

I hear your words, my dear

They live in me as well

I go to war, my dear, do not worry, I will defend the nation!

Take good care of our children

Tell them the truth! I will not regret my life, I will save the nation

A new era is coming, an era of justice

All Eteno have risen, falling for the nation

From the fields the farmers speak

I will feed the empire!

From the factories the workers speak

I will arm the empire!

And all the men speak, they will break the chains!

The Empire's army speaks

O Marana help us!

Loyal Eteno have risen

Marana, help us, give life to the Empire

Give us our salvation!

With the rifle and my brothers

And with Marana's gaze

And I go to battle as well

For the loved Empire

Only unity saves!

And the iron will!

Fatherland Empire, our beloved family!

Go to charge Eteno, for the life of the Empire!

All Eteno have risen, for the life of the Empire

Go charge Eteno, for the life of the Empire!

All Eteno have risen, for the life or the Empire

All Eteno have risen, for the life of the Empire!

General Bergmann[]

A song about an old Great War-era general who led his men across a heavily-fortified bridge and won the day for Vyzalinkhian troops.

It was a hard and long battle

The entire line was devastated by General Bergmann was not finished

Waltraud stood at the other end of the bridge

Like any Eteno Bergmann was not satisfied by the enemy's existence

His officers said it would not be done

but Bergmann would have none of this

The general took his gun and he took his armor

And with his trusted men he made to the bridge

Waltraud shot back with all their might

Waltraud's men went to destroy the bridge

but Bergmann would have none of this

The general and his men crossed in moments

And those who stood before him perished like all foes of Eteno power

And like today!

Us soldiers stand ready

We will cross the bridge like Bergmann did millenia ago

Marching[]

Both loose and regimented marches have been long-standing traditions in all branches of the Imperial Armed Forces. Not only as a show of force as discipline, but as a way of establishing unity, solidarity, and lack of individuality. Listed below are the official marches and paces of the Imperial Armed Forces. Note that any march can be performed at any pace.

Guard Pace - 30 beats/min

Regular Pace - 40 beats/min

Slow Pace - 55 beats/min

Head Pace - 70 beats/min

Quick Pace - 90 beats/min

Fast Pace - 120 beats/min

Standard Pace - 140 beats/min

  • A March - Eyes-forward march with the soldier's right hand holding their weapon against their shoulder by the stock. Legs are only raised twenty degrees in this march.
  • B March - Soldier's eyes are left and high with their weapon held at a 45-degree angle in front of them. Left hand holds the barrel, and the right hand holds the stock. Legs are raised seventy degrees in this march.
  • Parading March A - Soldier faces forward, saluting with right hand. Left hand holds the soldier's weapon against their hip by the rail or strap. Legs are only raised twenty degrees in this march.
  • Regulation March - Soldier faces forward, with weapon held against chest, barrel up, with the left hand on the barrel and the right hand on the stock. Legs are raised seventy degrees in this march
  • Guard March - Soldier faces forward, with rifle held against left shoulder with the left hand holding the bottom of the stock. With each step, the right arm swings back and forth. Legs are raised ninety degrees in this march.
  • Combat March - Used almost exclusively in the field. Weapon is held with both hands at a 45-degree angle against the soldier's chest. No specific regulation regarding where the soldier should be looking, or how high their legs should be raised with each step as long as the soldier can keep up with the pace.

Wars and Notable Battles Participated In[]

The Eteno Imperial Armed Forces have participated in a number of wars since the founding of the empire in 1 ATGW, after the Great War which had destroyed or helped destroy most established political and geopolitical entities.

Imperial Revolution - 1-9 ATGW - With most of Malisk II's governments finally brought to their knees by the monstrous costs of the Great War and the ensuing wave of famine, different factions of communist revolutionaries attempted to seize the governmeny of Vyzlalinkh, at that time the most stable city-state left. A consolidated conservative opposition group known as the Empire Council (the original name of the EIT) fought a proxy war against the royalist government with these communist groups from 1 to 5 ATGW. Midway through 5 ATGW, the Empire Council allied with and absorbed the many under-represented liberal reformists and wiped out the remaining communist rebels, soon launching a war against the incumbent royalist government of Vyzalinkh. Fighting in the city tended to be mild but constant, until 8 ATGW when the Empire Council defeated the royalist government. Occupied territories and weaker neighboring states were soon taken over by the new government, uniting the planet.

Uprising of the Royalists - 9 ATGW - Die-hard supporters still loyal to King Usalis shut down major seaports and airports in latae 9 ATGW in protest against his imminent execution, before outright raiding the prison in which he was held. While the prison was overrun, imperialist troops managed to hustle Usalis away on a small flotilla of patrol boats. Royalist troops established defenses at the prison, which was soon besieged by numerically superior imperialist units. Within two months, the royalists were all captured or dead. In 10 ATGW, the Empire Council changed its name to the Eteno Imperial Triumvirate.

1st Terrathian Border Conflict - 42 ATGW - The four-system Republic of Terrathia, showing considerable foresight regarding the EIT, attempted to destroy its single armed starship, the cruiser ENS Koroey, in a surprise attack. A Terrathian turncoat alerted the EIT of the plan, and the strike force of several corvettes was crushed. Having poured most of its resources into the protection of new colonies, the Imperial Armed Forces were incapable of launching attacks on any of Terrathia's territory. Regardless, Terrrathia payed massive reparations in exchange for a peace treaty.

Mekveren War of Conquest - 58 ATGW - Content with accepting protection payments from Terrathia, the expanding EIT overran the six-system House of Mekveren's navy. Costly, systematic invasion of each system over five years resulted in the acquisition of several mineral-rich planets and a population of highly-skilled gunsmiths. Mekverenian arms factories dot the entire modern-day Eteno Imperial Triumvirate.

1st War of the Kommenfrau Succession - 89-90 ATGW - The Empire of Kommenfrau, by 52 ATGW, was roughly three times larger than the EIT, with a military alliance between the two. With the abdication of the popular Queen Selos in the year, her ultranationalist son was expected to take over. Two neighbouring nations, the Interstellar Republic of Miodrag and the Ketamoa Meritocracy, feared that he would attempt to expand Kommenfrau through the conquest of Miodrag and Ketamoa. These two nations launched a pre-emptive strike on Kommenfrau, who immediately enlisted the aid of the Eteno Imperial Navy to resist the attack. In just under two years, the invasion was repelled, and six Ketamoan and Miodragian systems were seized. The EIT was given three for their service.

Miodrag Conflict - 124 ATGW - EIT incursion into Miodragian territory, in which a large bulk of the Miodragian Navy was surrounded and captured, and five star systems successfully invaded. Ketamoa almost sent aid to Miodrag, but halted their plans after the capture of most of the Miodragian fleet.

2nd War of the Kommenfrau Succession - 132 ATGW - Ketamoa and Miodrag, with the support of four additional small nations, launch another invasion of Kommenfrau with the intent to cripple their royal family and insert a Ketamoan/Miodragian-friendly ruler. Eteno forces help throw back the invaders.

Operation Dneta - 138-154 ATGW - A small series of wars against a federation of four different species who had fortified their home systems and united against possible foreign invasion. All four species fought the EIT to the point of extinction, raising domestic concerns about the effectiveness of Eteno foreign policy.

Imperial Marine Corps Reformation Conflict - 156-157 ATGW - Up until 155 ATGW, the Imperial Marine Corps was hardly similar to its modern form. The Imperial Marine Corps was formed in 28 ATGW, when the Imperial Navy forsaw it could no longer protect its own ships from boarding with regular crew alone. The Imperial Army also sought an amphibious fighting arm. The two branches agreed to form a new branch, made up of prison convicts that would fight in exchange for freedom. This was made necessary on account of the fact that the new IMC would receive relatively little funding, and as a result, sub-standard supplies. In 156 ATGW, military-wide reforms took place, including the transforming of the IMC from a convict service to a professional force. Convicts in service sent back to prison on account of the reform resisted. Within five months, the conflict was defused. Relatively few lost their lives in the conflict, but it served as a warning for the EIT to never form units made fully of convicts.

2nd Terrathian Border Conflict - 164 ATGW - Terrathian border guards and Imperial Navy vessels exchanged fire for five days along the Eteno-Terrathian border.

Q'kall War of Conquest - 173-183 ATGW - Invasion of the fifteen systems of the insectoid Q'kall. Two queens survived and fled to the core, where they allied with the Buyuk.

Dupov's War - 201 ATGW - An expeditionary raid into Terrathia by Admiral Dupov. The expedition ended after two systems were seized for the EIT.

Vyzalinkh Action of Revolt - 202 ATGW - Disgruntled by soaring police corruption and a consolidation of power by a handful of political oligarchs within state security forces, citizens in the capital city of Vyzalinkh formed roving vigilante groups to capture and execute corrupt Imperial Police Force officers in the city. It is estimated that up to 80% of local officers were involved in bribery, racketeering, and intimidation. Police across the city were unable to suppress the initial uprisings and formed barricades around police stations and government buildings. More citizens and some sympathetic police joined the vigilantes and besieged the entrenched IPF forces. A backup force of 45,000 IPF officers dispatched to lift the siege, led by Colonel Inspector Bogdan Vyachenko, was halved in strength on arrival when another ranking officer convinced 15,000 officers to join up with the vigilantes once they landed. Two weeks after the uprisings began, many roadblocks began to fall apart and anti-IPF forces inched closer to the national police headquarters at the time located in Vyzalinkh. Almost 100,000 soldiers were brought in to help control the uprisings, but on arrival, almost all ranking officers decided to align themselves with citizens and ex-police. Six weeks after the beginning of the revolt, the IPF was unable to continue resistance due to masses of defections. Countless thousands were executed or killed during the revolt, including almost all of the IPF's head staff. The federal police institution was forced to undergo decades of reform and opened up a set of departments dedicated to weeding out police corruption.

ISF Action of Revolt - 203 ATGW - Partly inspired by the Vyzalinkh Action of Revolt a year prior, ISF agents upset with the restrictive and corrupt nature of the internal security institution mutinied and killed or imprisoned top staff and any ISF agents loyal to them. Military police were dispatched to major ISF branches and the central headquarters in Vyzalinkh to restore order. A short period of unrest followed as military officers filled the temporary leadership vacuum, but by 205 ATGW, the ISF had returned to normal save for new reforms loosening regulation and authorizing IPF anti-corruption officers to conduct probes into the ISF.

Rothtun Revolt - 206 ATGW - Upset with the lack of civil rights afforded to them, Rothtun Dogs in service with the Imperial Armed Forces all over the EIT rose up in startlingly organised revolt. Several thousand dogs and Eteno died in the revolt, which ended in the granting of limited citizenship to all Rothtun Dogs in the EIT.

3rd War of the Kommenfrau Succession - 251-255 ATGW - Domestic discontent with the ruling dynasty in Kommenfrau sparked a rebellion which local forces could not quell due to military cutbacks. Eteno forces restored order and occupied several worlds until 265 ATGW, even though public support for the uprising had since then dissipated.

Prall War of Conquest - 257-282 ATGW - The militaristic Prall had a third of their sixty systems seized by the Eteno, as well as most of their stockpiles of resources. This was sparked by a diplomatic incident which resulted in the death of an Eteno civilian living in the Prall Heirarchy.

3rd Terrathian Border Conflict - 315 ATGW - Terrathian separatists attacked Imperial Police Force border guards to try and provoke a harsh Eteno response against the main government. Both the separatists and the main government were attacked, and five star systems were seized in the conflict to be made autonomous territories, but were annexed into the EIT by 320 ATGW.

1st Utoyan Border Conflict - 341 ATGW - After an attempt by Utoyan colonists to drive Eteno colonists off of a frontier agricultural world, the Imperial Navy made several raids against Utoyan military facilities near the border. The EIT seized a single habitable planet out of three within an Utoyan system, causing a large military buildup by both factions within said system.

4th War of the Kommenfrau Succession - 356 ATGW - A split faction of the Kommenfrau race built up a large military to aid a sympathetic pretender in seizing the throne. The Imperial Army lent forces to the Kommenfrau monarch to aid in securing the capital star system, but no further aid due to domestic economic struggles.

Operation Elizabet - 358-437 ATGW - After a wave of economic reforms left the current EIT government with low popularity amongst the empire's people, a series of attacks was launched against the colonial frontiers of three neighboring nations of similar size. Through superior training and strategy, Eteno forces eventually seized nearly a thousand worlds, but at a high cost in terms of manpower. Few large operations would be conducted for the next century as a result.

2nd Utoyan Border Conflict - 450 ATGW - Utoyan and Imperial Navy ships exchanged fire for several hours, and Imperial Naval Infantry secured the rest of a star system once divided between the Utoyans and Eteno.

War of the Tambren Succession - 451 ATGW - A former ally of the Kommenfrau, the Tambren adopted a similar government and patterend most of their society after the mostly-successful Kommenfrau. During a period of political tension between the Eteno and Kommenfrau, the Eteno supported the Tambren with ships and troops when the Kommenfrau monarch made an attempt for the Tambren throne.

Vladic Incident - 476 ATGW - Several Imperial Navy ships under the command of Admiral Vladic began firing on each other in the EIT capital system due to a computer error, and reinforcements were called in on both sides, fearing coup or mutiny. The conflict resulted in the destruction of fifteen ships, and significant damage to several dozen.

Operation Balthasar - 488-502 ATGW - Several empires became embroiled in a bloody war near the border of the EIT's northern colonial frontier, prompting the Imperial Navy to establish a strict blockade to prevent violence from spilling over. Frequently, battles occured near the blockade and the Imperial Navy fired on all parties involved to deter violence.

Colonial Expansion Conflicts - 507-600 ATGW - By 507 ATGW, the EIT was openly endorsing aggressive colonisation of all unpopulated worlds, even if the worlds were claimed by other empires. In addition, the government promoted mass emigration to empires with valuable territory. These Eteno would eventually (and intentionally) cause tension between themselves and their hosts, weakening their nation and giving the EIT a reason to invade. Some empires attempted to fight Eteno expansion, through diplomatic or military means. Almost all of the empires found themselves conquered in what is now called the Colonial Expansion Conflicts.

Yerreva War of Conquest - 621 ATGW - Two feuding nations, Whekommen and Yerreva, were both located on the EIT's northern border. Both recovering from a devastating, decade-long war, Whekommen and Yerreva attempted to use the EIT to their advantage. While Whekommen diplomats attempted to sway Eteno opinion against Yerreva, Whekommen's rival chose a more drastic path. They kidnapped and murdered three Eteno sailors, and framed Whekommen terrorists. While the EIT prepared an invasion force, Whekommen countered by murdering fifteen Eteno soldiers and a low-ranking Marine officer, and framed the Yerrevans. Before Yerreva could effectively deny or counter this move, the EIT invasion force once poised to strike Whekommen rolled over the Yerrevan border.

Whekommen Incident - 624 ATGW - While Whekommen's framing of Yerreva made them the victor in their long-standing rivalry, it was not too long until the EIT discovered that the murder of Eteno soldiers was merely a plot to get the vastly-superior EIT to strike Whekommen's rival. The deceitful nations was immediately invaded and conquered.

Omega-13 Skirmish - 665 ATGW - First Eteno encounter with Buyuk forces. A Buyuk scout party. which the Eteno thought was a regular fleet, was encountered by a fleet of Imperial Navy ships nearly six times larger. While it is unknown who started the engagement, an hour-long battle erupted, where the Eteno fleet routed the Buyuk at the loss of half of its ships. As the victory was attained only through numerical superiority, long-standing requests to upgrade and expand the then-neglected Imperial Navy were finally granted. If not for the conflict at Omega-13, and a battle with similar outcome had not occured later on, the Buyuk may have annihilated the EIT in their eventual invasion several hundred years later.

Operation Sparrow - 668-1206 ATGW - In 661 ATGW, the International Union of the Outer Arm formed with over eighty members. The purpose of the IUOA was to ensure the security of its members, and promote trade and peaceful relations. When the EIT discovered the union, top generals began planning how to overrun its members as soon as possible. In 662 ATGW, the EIT joined the union, speaking of a desire for peace and understanding. At the same time, thousands of spies inserted into the union's hundred-or-so members fed all manner of military information to the Council of Generals. In 668, a meeting of all members' leaders was held on an Eteno world, Emilia. As each leader was formally introduced (bringing along minimal security), it was soon discovered that the Eteno leader was not in attendance. Imperial Marines soon stormed the meeting chamber of Emilia's IUOA installation, taking hostage almost every foreign leader in attendance, save three who were caught in the crossfire. Simultaneously, the Imperial Armed Forces launched surprise attacks on all IUOA member states, overruning many in only one or two months. A small handful of nations were coerced into surrender almost immediately, but the majority of the union members promised resistance. After centuries, these resisting states were finally annexed by the EIT. Whatever outside nations the now-annexed empires once had relations with were also invaded, quickly and efficiently. From that point on, the EIT no longer played the equal or the lesser in diplomacy with nations that did not rival Eteno power in nearly every way.

Operation Miroslav - 1210-1246 ATGW - A succession action to Operation Sparrow, Operation Miroslav was a sort of 'mopping up' operation which resulted in the seizure of two hundred star systems held by remnant factions of the empires defeated in Operation Sparrow.

Akselsen War of Succession - 1315 ATGW - A brief intervention was conducted to keep the volatile Akselsen Dominion stable, as it was close to the developing colonial frontier and the Imperial Armed Forces were still recovering from casualties sustained during the centuries-long war prior.

Chataran War of Conquest - 1364 ATGW - The idealistic Chataran were conquered by the Eteno after Chataran military forces attempted to infiltrate Sius and overthrow the Eteno government. This attempt failed, and the species was eventually driven to extinction in the course of their resistance.

Akselsen War of Conquest - 1401 ATGW - After enough forces were in place, the Akselsen Dominion was quickly annexed to prevent further violence along the colonial border. Most Akselsen dispersed into different parts of the galaxy rather than fall under Eteno rule.

Operation Serp - 1411-1502 ATGW - Meant to outshine Operation Sparow, Operation Serp was a well-planned attack on six empires along the Eteno border. Less resistance was offered by the enemies of Operation Serp than of Operation Sparrow, and the century-long war caused surprisingly light casualties for the invading Eteno.

Paldravan War of Conquest - 1537 ATGW - The minor Paldravan Empire was annexed by the EIT. Its small military offered staunch resistance at the capital, but the rest of teh empire fell quickly and was annexed without issue.

Tsowari War of Conquest - 1621-1640 ATGW - Intended to be another quick conquest, the Tsowari forced the Eteno to spend inordinate resources fighting them for nearly two decades. Tsowari ships caused havoc within the EIT and sent troops to random colonies to cause destruction and force the EIT to send forces to dislodge them. The EIT eventually defeated the Tsowari, and the species' surviving members were annexed without issue.

Buyuk Wars - 1640-2188 ATGW - See main article.

Mirvatan War of Conquest - 1652 ATGW - Shortly after the annexation of the Tsowari, the Mirvatan officially protested against the EIT's many conquests. A show of force was conducted and several months of sabre-ratteling resulted in a short war on the Mirvatan border, and their quick capitulation.

Kadwaffen's War - 1703 ATGW - Admiral Kadwaffen led an expeditionary into uncharted territory and engaged a race of creatures who cultivated organic starships in growth yards orbiting luminous stars. Once it seemingly realized the size of the EIT, the mysterious race used its organic vessels to conduct a delaying action. This race evacuated all of their kind and destroyed all traces of their civilization before completely retreating toward the galactic core, leaving their former worlds to the Eteno.

Battle of Malisk II - 1715-1717 ATGW - See article.

Operation Aovsky - 1720-1783 ATGW - Operation Aovsky was an attempt to locate the race engaged in Kadwaffen's War. No traces were found, but multiple peaceful civilizations were found along the way and conquered. These conquests make up the Eteno territories in the Orion Spur.

5th War of the Kommenfrau Succession - 1790 ATGW - Kommenfrau separatists had gained great ground by 1789 ATGW, and in 1790, the capital was at threat. Eteno forces intervened in force and defeated the separatists within a year.

Xoxov War of Conquest - 1815 ATGW - The insectoid Xoxov were conquered and made extinct in a year after a Xoxov scouting party sterilized a small Eteno agricultural colony.

Aphbrec War of Conquest - 1839 ATGW - The militaristic Aphbrec, living on an overpopulated garden world, were conquered in a short, bloody war. Eteno forces gained great respect for the honorable and skilled Aphbrec forces, and the species was incorporated into the EIT and now is one of the largest alternate races within the empire.

Mosek's War - 1862 ATGW - During a mustering of forces in 1862 ATGW, General Mosek provoked a small empire on the Eteno colonial frontier and caused them to attack. Eteno forces rallied and conquered them, but it caused a delay in the Eteno counterattacks against the Buyuk, which the invaders used to their advantage.

Jakob's War - 1869 ATGW - Admiral Jakob led a force of battleships into the core of Buyuk territory and raided several industrial centers before retreating. The campaign, referred to as Jakob's War, was a major morale boost for the EIT.

1st Mosin Conflict - 1904 ATGW - In an attempt to acquire more resources for the Buyuk War, Admiral Mosin led forces to annex resource-rich worlds belonging to bordering empires.

Operation Kirov - 1921 ATGW - Similar to the 1st Mosin Conflict, but organized across the entire Eteno Imperial Armed Forces.

Operation Ploz - 1925 ATGW - A continuation of Operation Kirov.
