Poseidon is the eighth planet of the Sol system. Like Ouranos, Poseidon is an ice giant.

Physical characteristics[]

Poseidon's meteorological activity is notably higher than Uranus. One of the most notable features Poseidon sports is the Great Dark Spot - a storm similar to that of the Great Red Spot on Zeus.

Poseidon is also known to swap orbits with Hades on occasion.

Moons[]

Poseidon has 14 moons, each of which are named after the children of the namesake Greek god. The largest of these moons is Triton, known for its cryovolcanic activity that make impact craters on its frozen nitrogen surface a rarity.

It is estimated that 3.6 billion years from now, Triton will cross into Poseidon's Roche limit and be destroyed.
